Broken Arrow Golf Club - South/East
About
Broken Arrow Golf Club, located just southwest of Chicago's Loop, offers 27 holes of championship golf. There are three nines: East, North, and South that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The South/East Course begins with a links-style nine. The front of the course is accented by the landmarks of its former use as a farm. The original farmhouse and silo can be seen from the first teebox. Throughout the front nine, golfers will be faced with 22 bunkers, seven ponds, and multi-tiered greens. The golf course doesn't get any easier on East nine, which is arguably the most difficult of the three. The back nine features a slew of sloped fairways, hidden water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. Course management is essential throughout the entire golf course.

Beauty in Lockport
Broken Arrow is a hidden gem for many of us who live up in the western or northern burbs of Chicago. Thankfully, Interstate 355 was extended further south and now it's a straight shot for folks like me. I played the South/East nines and was impressed. The course is wonderfully maintained and is a very tough challenge for any kind of golfer. I played the tips and felt like that was a good yardage for my game. Greens were in very good shape for so early in the year, and the pins were in some tough spots, so beware. Also, the people working at the course were very nice. The starter tried to accommodate me any way he could, as I played as a single. I'll definitely be returning to this course!
Shots Shots Shots Shots Sh Sh Shots
First time out this year. White tees are best for HCPS over 12-14. Course was wet in spots but it poured for days leading up to when I went. Keep driver in the bag for most holes and you can score here. Greens were in great shape. Rolled true and surprisingly quick downhill. I wish cost was $35 and it would be a five star value. But it was a rough winter and Will County ain't much better than Cook...
I Broke my Arrow.
This was the 1st time out this year and have not played since Oct. of last year. I shot 15 more than normal but, that's my fault. The course is perfect.
I give it a big thumbs up. PLAY IT !!!
great value
Challenging Course, However It's Fair And A Great Price.
If the winds are blowing, watch out
The winds were howling at over 20mph and it added to the difficulty of the course. There is just enough water that comes in play to make you think about your shots. Greens could use a little extra care, but overall were nice for this early in the year.
Gread condition challenging but not ridiculous
Really like the layout for this course. Fairways and greens were in real nice condition
27 sporty holes
A nice facility with three nine hole layouts. My favorite is he North layout where each green has 2 flags (one easy pin placement and one that's a little more challenging.) A good deal on Golfnow.
Nice layout
great 3 nine hole layout, challenging for all, kept up, no leaves
This is a 27 hole golf course, You need to be accurate
Very well maintained and very challenging course. The fairways are in very good shape. Greens are fast and hitting the fairways is a challenge.
well maintained fairways and greens
Play of pace was great... until back nine. In front were 2 high school kids walking the course and taking their time. Did not know if they were part of a local school outing or practice.
always liked this track
Great shape for this time of year. greens were surprisingly fast
Good balance of water and sand.
Great course, challenging. Well worth the trip especially when booked through golfnow.com.
Broken Arrow
Played the easier (at least for me) North and then the South 9. Pace was a bit slow as they had a huge high school tourney at least on the south and word from the started was they were on pace for 5 1/2 hour round. Course was in nice shape for being fall in northern illinois. Staff was great and friendly as always have never seen a surly employee there. Course can be difficult playing the back tees especially with wind gusts. The other guy I was playing with never draws the ball but this day four shots drew due to the wind. All in all a decent deal through golf now or when they run good specials.
Golf course good. Service terrible
I played in a Saturday afternoon. The course was in very good condition, and the pace was good. However the staff is seething to be desired. The kid in the pro shop wasn't welcoming at all. The staff seemed to be stuck on slow. No one seemed to want to sell you any beverages. I would figure that a well maintained golf course would want you to spend extra money. Just play golf there people, don't expect to find a welcoming staff though.
Never dissapoints
Nice course. Three nines give you some variety each time you play. Greens were aerated within the last few weeks so they were grown out and didn't roll out. However, based on past experience here, the greens normally roll pretty true and quick. Fairways/tees were in good shape. Layout isn't anything spectacular. Lots of straight holes with water hazards flanking one side of the hole. Not many mature trees so lots of room off the tee as long as you miss the water hazards. Sand bunkers were in excellent shape. Entire course is surrounded by housing. Not something that bothers me but some people don't seem to enjoy that. Overall, a solid course and an enjoyable round.
Nice Course
With some narrow fairways and many well placed bunkers, Broken Arrow proved to be a challenging course! Played the South and East course combo that provided some good looking and difficult holes. I would definitely try this course again!
Some holes are quite challenging with focus on strategies.
Second time to play the course first time under five hours second time over five close to six. I am not one for target golf I like to give the ball a good ripe and hope for the best. But I enjoy both the length and the emphasis on some holes to make the right choice and lay up, in particular the par 5 eight hole on the South course.
good course and a good value
Pace of play was brutal - longest round of the year - well over 5 hours
Best value around
I believe Broken Arrow is one of the best values in the Chicago area. With 3 very different 9 hole courses, you get a different experience and challenge with each round. The course is well maintained and pace of play is great.
Broken Arrow always seems to be in great shape and the staff is always friendly
