Broken Arrow Golf Club - South/East
About
Broken Arrow Golf Club, located just southwest of Chicago's Loop, offers 27 holes of championship golf. There are three nines: East, North, and South that are played in three different 18-hole combinations. The South/East Course begins with a links-style nine. The front of the course is accented by the landmarks of its former use as a farm. The original farmhouse and silo can be seen from the first teebox. Throughout the front nine, golfers will be faced with 22 bunkers, seven ponds, and multi-tiered greens. The golf course doesn't get any easier on East nine, which is arguably the most difficult of the three. The back nine features a slew of sloped fairways, hidden water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. Course management is essential throughout the entire golf course.

Great condition
Course is in great shape & staff is solid! If they could only get the kids that clean the carts to refill the on cart sand containers we can help keep the fairways as nice as they currently are.
Course conditions have improved greatly since last year, bunkers are now playable and course in overall nice condition.
Disappointing
We made three tee times for Memorial Day and were told the price was $59. When we arrived, we were told $74, and they wouldn't honor what we were told.
The course was in rough shape. Many of the tee boxes were soggy even though it hadn't rained in days. The bunkers either were bone dry with little sand, or had standing water in them.
We came in after the round and were chatting in the pro shop. They have a couch, some chairs and a TV in there. We weren't loud at all, but the man behind the desk said we couldn't stay there, and to go to the bar. We walked down the hall to the bar, only to find an empty room with a sign that said "BAR CLOSED" on the wall. So... we left. Why put a couch and a TV in the pro shop if you are going to kick people out of there?
The layout is pretty neat, and the course could be excellent with some care. However, the maintenance crew would have to do a lot of work to get the bunkers playable and to make sure there is grass in the shade of the trees. There are many better courses in the area for the money.
Broken Arrow becoming a favorite
This is a beautiful, 27-hole course! Sufficiently challenging and nicely laid out. 3 sets of 9-holes, seamlessly played as 18. So you get a different look/feel each time you play 18.
Club house is simple, no frills, offering snacks and drinks (kind of small). No restaurant/bar.
The driving range, also no frills (kind of small).
Putting greens for each 9, spreads out the prep folks.
Overall an 8.5 out of 10 for the course.
6.5 out of 10 on the amenities.
The people who work there are great.
Lots of good things but...
Pace of play was dreadfully slow.
Course in good condition, green would hold shots, but were fast, no complaints.
Big sign in the clubhouse "THE BAR IS OPEN!" Went into the bar to find a sign saying, THE BAR IS CLOSED."
It's a once or twice a year course.
4:15 for 13 holes
Awful pace. 1st 3 holes on south were under 35 minutes. Got to par 4 and sat at every hole after that. Terrible pace. Either too booked or not enough administering of pace of play.
Very Nice Course
Played here in a foursome on an autumn Friday morning. Course was well attended but not packed. Course was in very good shape, including the greens -- which had either not been punched yet, or have already recovered from being punched. Nice wide fairways most of the times for the more casual golfer, but a good bit of water and woods OB to make it a challenge too. I lost more golf balls than usual this round, but that's not the courses' fault. The pro shop is small and only has essentials. And the snack counter (?) only has hot dogs, bags of chips, candy, and some cold drinks (beer/pop/water/sports drinks) in a refrigerator. Would have liked a bigger food offering, but oh well. I'd play here again.
This course has challenging holes
Enjoyed the course except for the bunkers which were essentially unplayable. Rest of the course was in nice shape and the greens rolled nicely.
