Big Run Golf Club

I played the senior tees at just under 6200 yards the white tees are 6700. Most second or third shots are up hill . So trying to hit these greens with hybrids or long irons is tough. I break 80 on most courses and was happy with an 89 here. It’s so tough! Greens are ok respective but on the slow side. Tee boxes most raised as are the greens fairways were ok grass i little long you really need some roll here. It was designed with help from Sam Snead so you can imagine the tough bends and uphill shots. If it was a bit more manicured you could have a pro tournament here not kindling you have to try it it will humble you lol

We play this course almost every summer. Layout is great, big, open, and very scenic. We noticed the maintenance lacking this summer. Overgrown rough which was too long, but also had a lot of clover growing so it was really hard to find your ball. I lost a couple balls that day that were simply in the rough a couple yards away from the fairway. There were patches of fairway and greens that were bare, but not many spots. Some of the fairway bunkers were mud pits, but all the ones around the greens were in good shape. Just wish it was better maintained.

The course has been outstanding for so long and is now looking a little beat up. Hopefully they can make it beautiful again.

Beautiful course with mature trees all around. Hilly terrain and challenging greens make this a very challenging but fair course.

It was probably in the 1970's, the last time I played this course. I don't believe the course has changed much in that time with some holes making it a challenge to reach the hole. Enjoyed the layout and the staff was very friendly. Google maps tried to guide me in the maintenance entrance when I arrived at the course, but I was able to correct that. Recommend playing here and use the golf now rate.

Was waiting 3 years to play this course after attending a wedding at the clubhouse in 2019. The golf now rate made it more affordable and the course was not crowded. We did have one slight problem with our golf cart at the 14th hole and the cart battery died. The staff at the course were very efficient and got us playing again in about 10 minutes with a replacement golf cart.

This course should be closed or sold. It's a dump, no excuse for it's horrendous shape. Nothing even remotely redeeming about it. It's an embarrassment to golf, the City of Lockport and golfers everywhere. A dead raccoon laying in the fairway, fungus on every fairway, brown spots, hard pan, and there is no maintenance. Under no circumstance should this course be allowed to take anyone's money. They should pay you to play here. It's a disgusting place.

Amazing layout, has clearly seen better days. Hilliest course around. Greens are slow but in good shape. Rest of the course is bone dry. Needs some TLC to get it back to former glory and it’ll be an absolute monster track.

This could be a nice course, but drought conditions and no fairway watering leave it with grass not growing. The greens are in good shape as they get watered. Maybe some rain will revive it.

Fairways are very dry and would not play there again in those conditions.
