Any Decent course tells you on hole plate the yardage. Get the hint. Beginners course. Photo submitted by DavidLaDuke on 04/01/2015
Didn’t play. Rained out.
We’ve had several days of rain in Northern Illinois, including all day June 21st. Weren’t able to play. Hopefully another time. I’ve heard good things about the venue, can’t wait to see for myself.
Boone Creek
This is a great course tucked conveniently between Crystal lake and McHenry.
I love to play here when I'm try to make some small adjustments. It relatively flat and easy to navigate for those who walk. This is a great course that easy fairly easy to play.
Conditions
Greens were brown but well tended. Not many ball marks left unprepared.
Pastoral Natural Setting
The beauty of Boone Creek is its natural setting. NO houses with a beautiful creek running through it. Also very playable and fair course for players above a 10 hndcp and challenging for low handicappers if played from back tees. Greens over the last 5 years have really become good and turf is also in good condition.Expansive practice area. Course is fairly flat.Great spot for a social round of golf
Something for everyone!
This course offers different challenges for the beginning, intermediate or serious golfer. The "Valley" portion is all about course management, the "Prairie" portion is where distance is king and the "Creekside" portion is a mix of both. Of note, the roughs are thick and often cut as if the course is applying to host the U.S. Open, so keep it in the fairway! Staff members in the pro shop, the bar or on the course are always friendly!
Course in fairly good shape. traps could use a little lighter sand. Bring lot's of balls with you as there is high risk on every hole due to the thick rough.
Course played fast and completed 18 holes just under three hours. Would play again.
Beautiful course
I played 9 holes on the Prairie course. Beautiful job of integration with natural landscape. One of the more beautiful courses I've played. Nice staff. Not too hard because it's not too long. But like any course best if you but fairways.
There finally cut the rough. It took years to do it. I quit playing this course because of this. I'll go back if they keep them cut to a reasonably fun place to play
Very nice affordable course
Boone Creek is well maintained and a nice variety of holes. It is a forgiving course but not easy. It is affordable and walkable.
Excellent course for the elderly.
Not too many high hills and plenty of directions for easily finding the next hole. Very relaxing yet great practice for the avid golfer.
The course needs upgraded maintenance
Played on a holiday weekend and the course was very busy which I expected a slower pace of play. They have three 9 hole courses but no starters to manage tee off times on a busy day and no marshals on the course to manage pace of play. The fairways and greens were in pretty good shape for as much traffic this course has on weekends. The rough was very long which made finding ball tough.
Good value
Excellwnt course with conditions and layout of 3 9 holes
