Old Orchard Country Club

I have played Old Orchard many times before and am not always impressed with the pace of play or course conditions. This time, both were excellent. It is a great course when it is both maintained and managed. I will be back soon and hope I have a similar experience.

Used to be better, as the years went on it slowly started to go down In quality of fairways, greens, tees, and such. Spongy tees, lots of geese poop, slowest greens in the midwest chicago area thats forsure. Almost as slow of greens as a free 5 hole course near me, that should tell you all you need to know.

Golf now senior rate 45.00 per player for an above average municipal track. Yes greens are slow and fuzzy but generally in good shape. Fairways and tee boxes were fine too. Pace of play 4:10 not bad. They have a beverage cart but missed the 1/2 house (maybe only open weekends?) Mark & Doug do a great job getting a lot of mileage out of this facility that is obviously in need of employees but the employees they have are great! So pack your patience and swing by OOCC for a fun round of golf at a reasonable price!

Weird place

Played this course with 4 players today. Unfortunately, there were several things that made this course a little bit of a bummer. First of all, the tee boxes were in bad condition. Quite literally divots in every spot, and goose droppings all over. Speaking of Geese, they were everywhere, even on the greens. Some holes had very narrow fairways as well and confusing layouts. A lot of water on the course but again not well maintained. The halfway house was the highlight of the course, had a full bar and grill with various lunch options. the cart lady was pretty easy to find. Greens and fairways were fine. Some better care for the course would go a very long way and definitely make this course much better. $87 a person is steep in my opinion as well.

Not a great layout. Several holes you didn’t know which green you were hitting into from 100 yards out. Some holes impossible to hit green in regulation. Very narrow as well, apartments and houses everywhere. Worst part we’re the greens, very small, and also we’re super slow. It was like putting on carpet.

Really nice local course. Only wish is for quicker greens. They are unbelievably slow.

Pretty nice little course. Short but tight, greens are nice and also a little small to make it more challenging. A bit slow for such a short course.

This course was fun to play. Overall layout is moderately challenging with some really tough holes, but this should not dissuade an average golfer from playing here. Staff is always friendly. Pace of play was the only downside as the group ahead was playing excessively slow and did not let us pass. The round took over 4 and a half hours. Full bar/food service at the turn was awesome but they could use a cart girl/server for refreshments while playing. I will be back.

First time I played Old Orchard in many years. While the course was pretty much as I remembered it the pace of play was unacceptable. There were multiple groups waiting on almost every tee. When I say the ranger drive by me I asked him if he was looking into the reason that it was so slow. He prefer it to hear me and drove away. Not the way to run a course.
