Good Scottish links course in the area
I played quite a few times on this course and found it “uniquely different” Scottish links in the area. Course was well maintained. New management manage well and staff are friendly and courteous. I’ll come back.

Nice, but needs improvement.
This course under new ownership and there have been many improvements, however, the greens are medium speed at best and some of the fairways have been improved but some still have weeds and dandelions.
The day was 90 and very windy, about 20-30mph, this made it very difficult. One other suggestion would be to have water coolers on the course. To play in 90-degree heat on a links course perched 100 feet up on a hill with no shade is brutal and it is ridiculous that there is no water, not even a cooler at the clubhouse to fill a water bottle.

Perfect for a day of practice or a quick 9 with friends
Course is a lot of fun and a hood lay out. Nice range with grass tees. Two practice putting areas. They're doing work around the course but it doesnt interfere with your round at all though. Staff is friendly as well. Can walk or take a cart.

Standard public 9 hole course
Well kept greens and fairways with pretty bad sand traps and a fair amount of on course land that looks like a construction area. All skill and etiquette levels in attendance. We ended up behind a group of 6 with a 2-year old, allowed to all go off together because only 3 of them were playing. They ended up having 6 play while sharing 3 sets of clubs, taking photos of their baby on the green for several minutes after they were done with the hole and really just ignoring the fact that other people were on the golf course. Always a gamble when you play here. Win some and lose some. In general though, the staff is nice, the course is approachable and tee times aren't too hard to come by.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Solid course
Went this past weekend with a buddy of mine. Early in the season but the course was really wet. Outside of that really nice. Not overly hard or long but the wind definitely makes it more challenging.

Soggy and Windy
Willow Hill is a former garbage dump that sits way up high (you can see downtown Chicago) and has no trees or other shelter from the wind. A steady 25 mph wind made the course more challenging than usual. The current owners have made a lot of improvements to the course the last two years, but it has a lot of drainage problems. The fairways were soggy in many spots and there were puddles in some spots, It's March, and there was a lot of rain and snow recently, so conditions should improve as it gets warmer and drier.
