Stony Creek Golf Course
Would like to have been informed that Saturday after 2:00 PM is FAMILY DAY. There was no ranger on Saturday and a family ahead of us was training a young boy (around 5-years or less) and he could not hit the ball out of the tee box. They also had him drop on the green but he could not putt. Also, one single player ahead of us right behind the foursome with the young lad, decided he would challenge his drive on the tee with 5-balls instead of using the driving range--what a long, long, day.

Executive length course.
Ok golf. I made t-time based on reviews and did not check the course length. Probably OK if you're you're looking for a basic course of 4500 yards.
A Truly Amazing Course
My friend and I played this 18 hole course for first time. It was awesome! There certainly are some challenging holes that would require even some of the best golfers to manage. The people at the club were very welcoming, the course is beautifully maintained, and the total experience was outstanding. Would highly recommend!!
Mehhh
Usually a good value. Prices were way up on the nicest Sunday of the year so far. No coffe available before the round. No coffee cups available at the turn. But overall i like the course. The staff. And normally. The price
Iron play
Great course to practice your irons, lots of par 3's. Love the layout!
excellant training course
Short course but lots 3 par holes and challenging. Pretty narrow fair way need accurate and proper area drop for 2 nd shot. Over all I love this course.
Nice short course
I was looking for a course that I can use my irons more and this course was perfect. It was in great shape and has some tough holes.
Have your short game ready
Good course for the buck. I will be back. Enjoyed it. Wish they had more par 4 and 5s but overall good
Diamond in the rough
This little course is a diamond in the rough. The staff is happy and friendly, the course is very well-maintained, and the value to play a round of 18 holes is almost unequalled.
The main issue people have had with this course, is it is, a lot of per threes and isn't very long in general… OK big hitter, go play some local course like big run, old oak, or ruffled feathers...... This is a great course for us non-professionals.
The par three's are still challenging, because the greens are not easy although they are well maintained.
The other negative I have seen in other reviews, it is a lot of ball marks on the greens… I think this is because the greens are well-maintained and soft, and newer inexperienced players, sometimes play there, and are not as good at fixing their ball marks on the green… So fix your ball marks people, and a few extra while you're up on that green!… And keep this place a secret even though I am writing a great review
Golf
Nice course for the money had a lot of fun my wife loves the course we will be back to play another round or two
Nice course.
Always know what to expect. Love this little short course.
Beat up course
Played as a foursome ....fairways were filled with chunky dirt that was impossible to hit off of. Don't people know how to repair their ball marks on the greens? Greens were beat up! Club/ball washers on cart were dry no soap/water. We only paid $11 each from golfnow so it didn't matter but if we paid their regular rate I would have been angry! We definitely Won't be coming back!
Poor Organization
I made my tee time online for 4:40pm. When I registered, they told me to that I was going to start on the 10th tee due to a league starting at 5:00pm and a high school group. I booked as a single and they paired me up with a double.
I show up to the 10th tee seeing 2 guys on the tee and introduce myself to find out with who I'm playing with and they said they weren't told to play with anyone. Another twosome shows up behind me and I ask if they are the guys I'm supposed to be playing with and they said they were coming from the 9th hole. So by the management telling a few groups to go over to the 10th tee, all the new groups were thrown into the pace of the previous golfers and it was incredibly slow for the back nine.
By the time I finished the 18th hole, new groups were lined up to go off the 1st tee and I had to jump in again. No one took into account the issues with putting groups off the 10th tee.
Nice course
Lots of par 3s. Well taken care of. Bunkers were soft sand. Nice change to what else is nearby.
deja vu
I was a resident of Oak Lawn for 60 years and have played Stoney for a long time. There was a group of gentleman that took over the course on Tuesday. I watched as the y had up to 10 players on a green at certain times. To my horror I witnessed how they tore up the course after the rain the night before. Never replacing divots in the fairway or fixing their ball marks on the greens. One good thing is that all of the tee repair buckets were full. so full and unused that grass was growing inside them. I emptied many fixing holes as well as i can. It seems as though players seem to think there is an entitlement to golf. It's an affordable place to play and let's hope someone can get out there and enforce some of the rules of play. There was not a marshall in sight all day. (5 1/2 hours to play). the volunteers are just that and just want free play. Can't blame them but someone is needed to help get the place back on track.
Started to be a great day
The fairways were a little dry and the greens had several ball marks that needed to be fixed. We moved around a nice pace until the eighteenth hole (our ninth since we started on the back) whole when we caught up to the group in front of us. Then we sat on the first tee (our tenth) since they let groups start on the front nine after we were told that they switch the nines every week and everyone we go off on the back. We go stuck behind a threesome that only had 1 bag with 1 putter and we had not seen a ranger since about our third hole. I was not a very enjoyable or well paced second nine.
