You get what you pay for
I play Stoney Creek a couple times a year due to its price. You get what you pay for in terms of courses. It’s a pretty easy course. The greens aren’t in the best conditions. This last time I played however, the pace of play was pretty bad it might as well have been Memorial Day or the 4th of July it was so awful. Somehow the ranger put two groups of 5, then a group of 4 older gentlemen that slowed down the pace of play to the point where it ruined an otherwise beautiful day. I will still play this course in the future but if the pace of play was as bad as this last time out, I will spend my money elsewhere
The course has a great layout.
It was mother’s day so there was hardly anyone out there. No one in front of us and no one behind us. So if I hit a bad shot I just hit another one. All in all it was a great day.
Stoney Creek
It's a nice little south suburban course, that is not jammed, and overpriced. The course is pretty well-maintained, The people are nice and the price is right.
Worst service ever
We had 6am tee times. We got there with plenty of time. Doors locked, lights off, No one there. After a few minutes a couple of older gentlemen were pulling golf carts out. Does two gentlemen were very polite and courteous. We asked them if they knew where the rep to check in was. They had no clue. After 20 minute two (2) foursome took it open themselves to walk on to course and golf. I couldn't see myself doing that. Again we asked does older gentlemen if they heard anything. One fella said they had gotten in touch with someone. Finally, someone got there at 745 am. Obviously the line to tee off was ridiculous, that by the time We got to the 10th hole their was two (2) sets of foursomes and two (2) sets of twosomes waiting to tee off...
Unbelievable!!!! I spoke to several guys while we waited to tee off on 10th hole and it appears that this was the 3rd weekend in a row they do this. Stony must not care what customers feel or think.
A 3 hour golf round turned out to 530 hr round. SMH... unacceptable
Fun easy course
Its a fun course to play
Easy layout with forgiving fairways
Greens are in great condition
Cheap beer specials were a plus
The only down side is that it is so far from the city
Fine tune your short game
Lots of par 3's and only one par 5, this course will test your short game. Short, seemingly easy course that somehow beats me every time. Price is low and conditions are kept up nicely.
BLT
Stoney Creek is a solid muni in great shape. It's very short, only par 65, but very challenging. Don't be fooled by the lack of length and numerous par 3 because the greens are tough!! It's a challenge, lots of fun holes. They also have a driving range and restaurant bar with great burgers & a nice patio. It's a great value for the $$.
Great play
First time here. It's a shorter course and a great challenge for the short game. Great facilities, and a very nice course.
Great for your short game
What can I say...it was worth the $16 I paid to play. The course is very short(5000 yds.) from the "tips". There are only a handful of holes that aren't driveable and the layout is horrific. Most of the holes are right next to each other and closely grouped so you hear 'fore' ALOT! However, 18 holes for $16 including a cart is hard to beat. If you want to practice your short game without going to the range this course is for you.
Great Time
Small challenging course. Great pace of play for a late Sunday morning. Friendly staff. No complaints at all other than my score.
Fairways were awful
Fairways were terrible, and the layout was a disaster. Guys we're playing 8 people on a tee and taking forever.
March golf
You have to be ready for a long wait when you play here even in March. No one keeps an eye on the pace here nice course but expect and hour or more
Additional time to a round and this is a very short course.
