Tollway
Several holes are adjacent to I-294, with a big ugly wall and lots of noise. There’s nothing the staff can do about it, but it significantly detracts from the entire experience. There are a few other holes, especially 18, that seem artificially tricked up. The course is always in very good shape, and the practice area is the best of any muni in the area. The head teaching pro, Derek, has been a big help for my game.
Great value
Despite Greens having some dry and rough patches especially on the borders, this course is a great value. $55 with cart for a Friday. Putting greens and chipping areas are solid. Staff very friendly. Nice deck for post round drinks. Water comes into play too much for my liking but playing a second time, I think most sub 15 handicaps would score 4-5 shots better? Cannot use driver on all Par 4 and 5s -at least from the middle tees.
Great value for how nice the course is
The course is well kept definitely reasonable prices! Sometimes can be a little slow.

Good course! some of the greens were patchy but overall a fun day!
6:54 Saturday morning tee time. Guy with the club house key had not shown up by 6:45. At the t Bar/ kitchen was not open even for water or Gatorade
Maybe an off day, but had a 6:54 Saturday morning tee time. Perfect weather mid September. Guy with the club house key had not shown up by 6:45. Started was just sending people out, but no carts. Kitchen area not open even for drinks. At the turn, the Bar/ kitchen was still not open. Half way house also closed. Cart girl finally came by when we were on 18.
like the course but dislike rude golfers
slow play.... I quit after hole 11... the foursome in front had two open holes in front of them but continued to play extremely slow, some players are rude and not good sports man like but not the courses fault!

Every time when I put the ball in hole my next hit that ball is lose
Great condition and staff
We felt the course was in beautiful condition. The grass was very green and well capped. The staff was also very friendly and helpful to us.
Very comfortable
Enjoyed greatly, stayed for a second 18, 36 holes in one day. It is an excellent community course. Nice practice tee. GN price includes cart but you can walk if you like for a reduced fee. GN should offer that.
Not quite up to par
I've played here at Deerfield for years. One of the most wonderful features has always been what outstanding shape the course is in. This time, sadly, the course conditions were not quite up to par.
It is evident that the course is doing some work on cart paths. Additionally, there were trees down from a recent storm. Those are not what I am speaking to. The fairways were in poor condition. large areas without grass on many of the holes. I found this to be shocking. I have p[ayed several other courses along the north shore and have not seen this anywhere else.
