Odyssey Golf Course
About
Odyssey Country Club is a challenging layout that was designed by Harry Bower and two-time U.S. Open winner Curtis Strange. Strange won in 1988 and 1989, putting him in the company of only six others in the century-long history of the U.S. Open. His influence is apparent in all the strategic elements of the golf course as well as the risk-reward options. This demanding layout is not exactly beginner friendly. Staying on the fairways is crucial or your ball will be met with deep rough. Water is also a prominent presence on the golf course. Twelve holes either feature a water hazards or play along the water's edge. Odyssey Country Club's 16th hole is memorable for its tricky island green, which naturally draws comparisons to the famous 17th at TPC Sawgrass.

Good, bad and ugly
The layout is nice and challenging. However the condition of this course has gone done considerable over the years. For the price it wasn't bad. However I wont play this course for a while until they cut the grass. It was U.S. Open style even if your ball went one or two yards off the fairway or if you missed some par three you couldn't find your golf ball. It was joke and frustrating .
Course has potential
Pretty decent layout. Rough needs to be cut impossible to find your ball and slows down play. Carts are old and need to be updated. Red tees for ladies are too long 5,600 yards. Greens were very slow but in pretty good shape. Course has good potential.
Nice course!
Tougher course for mid handicappers. Real windy which didn’t help. Fun course, nice layout. A nice challenge.
Never Again
The round started off fine with no issues. The course was not overly crowded at all. We made the turn and that’s when the wheels fell off. It. Took us over an hour to play three holes. We left. Not a ranger to be found. I keep giving this place a chance because it is close to home but they do an awful job of keeping people moving. In the five rounds I have played there I have been able to finish 1. If you have 8 hours to play a round this is the place for you.
The bird sanctuary
Course is in good shape, but the birds are leaving feces all over the tee boxes and greens.
Fair test
First time playing here in nearly five years and was not disappointed. The course was in good condition for mid November. Only complaint is the excessive goose droppings on the course, which was by far more than any other course I’ve seen this year.
Nice layout, not well-maintained.
The course layout is very nice. The Course Maintenance is significantly lacking. Although the greens had just been aerated, the fairways in many places had unkept areas. The most significant area where this course was lacking is in the fact that the yardages are not marked and they are not turning on the GPS. There is no way to tell the distance from the hole unless you have a Bushnell and can actually see the hole. But for the money it was a good round on a course with a nice layout.
Excellent Opportunity
Was shocked at the availability and speed at which I got to play. A couple of times I looked into the sun and lost my ball to the right (trees), but it was always found. Luckily there {surprisingly), were not a lot of golfers at that time. Love the course and will attempt to play again.
Needs work
I like playing this course because of its value and scenery. Unfortunately they have a lot of work that needs to be done to the course. It definitely has the potential to be a 5 star course in in my eyes. But there are way too many parts of the tee boxes and fair ways torn up and not fixed. Greens are slightly damaged and some of the bunkers are like cement. A little bit of work goes a long way. Besides that, the course is very fun to play.
Odyssey - Greens and Fairways Very Nice to Hit/Putt
This course does a nice job on its fairways as the grass is really nice to hit from. Plenty of grass everywhere with a nice soft feel and it makes for good contact. The greens are true without many difficult slants or twists making it easier for you to read and score. They have also sanded the traps to give you a good opportunity to get out. The only negative on the entire course is the goose droppings which are really excessive. It would be nice to have the maintenance staff clean that up as you have to watch where you step a lot. Still a very good course to play.
Course still needs alot of attention
They are starting to put alittle bit of money into course they were updating some of the bunkers tee boxes looked lie bonb sites greens were ok if golfer would fix ball marks and fairways if not in low areas were good if not they were bare from standing water. I said it a couple times this is a great Curtis strange design it needs to go under a management company like billy casper and let them bring it back to a great course
A buddy and I were looking for somewhere to go for a late twilight. We decided on Odyssey. Even though the course is 5 mins from the house I avoid playing here because it's always in such terriable shape. Well I heard that the course was in new management. So we decided to give it a try. Same old story for the most part. Most of the fairways have dirt spots. Not divots, 2 foot patchs of raw dirt. Then half the bunkers weren't even playable. No sand just dirt and rocks. The Greens seemed to be in better shape then when I was there last. Still had to dodge the Goose droppings all over some of the greens and fairways. The course has such potential but just no up keep. And hole 10 fairway looks like a war zone. If they could clean up the place it could be a great course.
