A hidden beauty and a real challenge
Course was in great condition. Wish I could say the same for my game yesterday but I would have to say the course , even on a good day for me, was one of the most challenging gold experiences I have had in awhile. Expect to loss at least 6 to a dozen balls.
Twist & Turns
I really like this course and hope to return. I learned a lot and my score should be better the next time.
The staff seemed to have problems with check ins and tee times. That lead to a slower than needed round.
A great day
This course is in really great shape. While others in the area are having problems with greens this place is without those problems and is in very good to great shape. It was most enjoyable for all.
weekends play very slow
First few holes, the pace was good, but then the bottle neck happened. Had to wait 5 minutes each time to tee off. Course was in good condition. Staff was very courteous.
First Timer
Course was in great condition. Lots of water but easy to stay away from. First time out in 4 years after accident and shot 99. Not too difficult. Foursomes were quick and let me play through.
Best kept secret in Chicagoland
I had recently popped up from Chicago to play at Thunderhawk and learned that there were several other high quality affordable courses in the area. It was nice to get out of the city a bit and shoot up north for Thunderhawk so I figured I'd give Midlane a chance. The reviews online were great and the price could not possibly be beat. I was shocked to discover what a beautiful, challenging, and fun course exists on the property. The staff was fabulous, the course was in great condition, and the round was swift, and pleasant. Midlane is slightly less challenging than Thunderhawk but at half the price as a walker, it's a steal. The course presents a number of challenges, particularly water, but I loved that the hazard placement pushed you to think your way around the course. I played from the blues walking and had a great time. The facilities of the resort community could certainly use some updating. The clubhouse took me back to 1985 and the range looked a bit beat up and in need of new yardage signs not taken from Tin Cup. But aside from cosmetic issues, a drive up to Wadsworth is time well spent for a wonderful golf experience. Pair a morning round here with an afternoon at Thunderhawk and you've got golf heaven. I'll be back again and again. Best bargain in the region.
Midlane Golf Resort
Midlane is a great golf course.
IF more people knew about the golf course, it would get more play.
The greens are always smooth.
It has a good variety of holes.
It is well designed with bunkers and hazards in strategic places.
No wonder the L.P. G. A. Tour played it in the early 1970's.

The cost.
For the price of a round of 18 holes, you can't beat it.
Great Course
Overall the course was in spectacular shape. The greens showed no damage from the bad winter of freezing. The fairways were in excellent shape.
The practice facilities were above average.
Midlane / Nice course
Very nice condition and great price with Golfnow.com. Course was set up very nice but I do prefer to play a more wilderness surrounded course. Playing in between all of the housing is not my 1st preference. I would rather play in a more wooded back to nature setting but I will play it again for the price I got.
Great Value
One of the best courses on the north shore. Played in a twosome in just over three hours. interesting course with some difficult holes. One complaint: No drink cart.
Challenging yet fun
This course was beautiful and challenging from get go. The challenging aspect is the amount of water that is surrounding about 60% of the holes. While this may be exaggerating a little bit, it definitely feels like that. Overall, for the money, this is one of the best courses I have ever played.
Great place to play.
Course in great shape, staff was helpful, pace of play excellent. Great value.
Great experience
Enjoyed the course. A great layout, affordable and great pace. Everything I find enjoyable about a course.
This is the best course on the Northshore
You can spend a lot more money for a little bit more difficulty. But if you want a fantastic challenge for a decent amount of money Midlane is your course.
Ranger needed for pace
I enjoyed playing the course. The course condition was very good and the holes were challenging. I'm a 16 handicap and played from the whites. Lots of water. But we started out with a foursome and on the second hole a fifth person joined us so we played the front nine with a five some. Even with five of us playing, we still had significant wait time on tees and in fairways.
Course wide open
Course in good shape. Greens a bit sllow. Very soft so shots had to be spot on. Not much release on chip shots. Course very demanding off tbox. A lot of water comes into play. Pace of play was awesome. Felt like had course to ourselves. Must play for price. It will challenge every facet of your game!!!!
Great Course!!
Playing this course for the 1st time was quite a challenge. I played the blue tees and some of the tee shots were very difficult There's some water off the tee you can't see. It's almost mandatory to have a Sky Caddie or yardage book to really know where to hit it. The greens were full and fast. Some of the bunkers however, could use some sand. The fairways were great. The pace of play was a little slow but I think it had to do with the difficulty of the course. A ranger might something the course could look into. My only disappointment was there wasn't anyone in the clubhouse I could speak with after the round. (they had a wedding group there, maybe that's why). I will be going back!!
