Good golf
I was surprised at the favorable conditions of the course this early in the year. Good golf Greens were very good Had fun Thanks Acorns and staff.
Great Course
Love this course. Only problem was that they did not have my golfnow reservation on record, but still let us out after seeing my reservation on my app
Greens were sandy, but other than that, awesome!
Got a warm Oct day and played 18 with a friend. They had recently punched the holes in the greens so they were not great. Normally I love their greens, so just give it a week or two and should be back to normal. Fun layout and perfect zoysia fairways. Always play the black tees and it is challenging from there. Terrific value, especially if you can catch a Hotdeal.
Latest round at Acorns
I play well over 100 rounds of golf a year and most all of them in the St Louis area, probably 6 rounds at Acorns. Acorns is always , always, always in pretty good shape and is the most consistent Best Buy golf course within 40 miles !
relaxing round
enjoyed the round and loved the fairways the greens put me to the test it has been a long time since playing there and a bit of a drive but would love to get even with a few of the greens some day soon
A gem amongst the corn
I was pleasantly surprised by the course. I found myself driving down some country roads lined with corn fields. I wasn’t sure what I would find out here. The course was in very good shape from tee to green. The round took about 4 1/2 hours to play on a mid-week at mid-day. I would have liked a little quicker round. Other than that is was a great deal for the price. I would go back.
Great as Always
Very consistent standards at this course with maintenance and personnel. No better value in the area.
Tons Of Potential
I have just recently moved to the area and have been trying new courses every weekend. I noticed that most courses that claim to be "Links Style" courses, are not actually designed that way. This course has more of a links style feel than any of the other courses I have played that make this claim. The tee boxes are in need of significant repair and most traps either have no sand, little sand, or are not raked at all. The fairways are wonderful and the Zosia grass allows for a wonderful lie any time you find the fairway. The greens ran slow but were in great condition with little to no damage. The layout is great and the potential for this course to compete with places like Annbriar is very high; just a few simple improvements will get this course to that level. I look forward to playing this course again in the near future, hopefully with some of the suggestions I've made being implemented.
Worth the drive
Got bored on a Monday morning and made the trip over to play, alone. Was well worth the drive. Booked a 1050 time, showed up about 1020 and took right off. It was a bit overcast that day so the temperatures were great for mid summer. Fairways were great, tee boxes only had 2 with some issues, and the greens were some of the best I have seen this year. Course was well maintained. Playing alone I figured I would end up catching up with another group but never ran into anyone until the 18th fairway. Played my round in about 2.5 hours. Well worth the trip and will go back again.
Hidden Gem
This course has always been a hidden gem. First built to compete with a local 5 star course Annbriar, Acorn does. Some manicure care is needed around a few holes, tee boxes and club house for providing a more scenic atmosphere but, some wouldn't notice or care.
Staff is friendly as were other golfers we encountered. Its a drive if you don't live fairly near but, worth it.
Beautiful course. Greens are in great condition. Fairways are starting to dry out. Never a bad day at the Acorns
Very nice course
The course was fun to play. It was in great shape and the greens ran very true. My friend and I enjoyed playing the course very much.
Links in the Country
I'm always impressed when I play Acorns. I think the greens are always in great shape. They aren't challenging greens but they roll really well. The course has a mix of everything. But it's a bit of a links course, where you can run balls up to the hole and it's a bit of a shot makers course. It's very short from the white tees, under 6k yards so it's one that if you usually play from the white tees like myself you really need to play from the blues, otherwise you'll be using driver, wedge for the entire round. Pace of play has been excellent every time I've played. The only issue is the distance from STL otherwise I'd play this course all the time.
