About
Bonnie Brook Golf Course, known amongst locals as simply "The Brook," is one of the most popular public courses on the North Shore. It has even been ranked as one of the top 50 public golf courses in the Chicagoland area. Designed in 1926 by James Foulis, the course has a classic feel to it with challenges that have withstood the test of time. The layout sprawls across a scenic natural landscape accented with gently rolling hills, tall native grasses, and sparkling lakes. The north branch of the Waukegan River also meanders through part of the golf course. The Bonnie Brook layout offers enough of a challenge for advanced players with narrow, tree-lined fairways and subtly tricky undulations throughout the spacious greens, but it is a round that is player friendly enough for any skill level to enjoy.

Great Day at Bonnie Brook
The Course was in Great shape even after the heavy rain on Thursday.
Loved this course
We didn't know what to expect from Bonnie Brook but it definitely lived up to the reviews. It could be one of the best public courses I've played in Northern Illinois.
Great public course
Very well maintained public course that is fun to play, challenging without being unfair and always in great condition.
Best golf course in Northern Illinois
This course is in such great condition and exceptionally In great condition. The hreens are fast and fairways are wonderful. Kudos to the ground crew!
Foursome ahead of us
The 4-some ahead of us were glacial. We had to wait on a number of holes. A weekday round lasted like a weekend round.
Super long and slow
This course was a good value but would t play again. It was 5 hours to play 18 with no ranger. Course is in decent condition but on some holes the cotton looked like snow and you couldn’t judge the green distance. Overall it was slow and boring!
Very nice course
Played a round with my son and we enjoyed the course. Has a country club like feel. Fairways are in great shape and the greens were fast. The pace was very fast being on Mother's Day which was great for us. I would highly recommend this course for anyone who wants an enjoyable round.
Great Value
Really enjoyed this course. The course is not overly difficult, but it's very interesting. The course is in great shape from tees thru fairways and greens. The greens are undulating and adds a degree of difficulty. This course is a fun challange. Kudos to the staff. Well done!
