About
Bonnie Brook Golf Course, known amongst locals as simply "The Brook," is one of the most popular public courses on the North Shore. It has even been ranked as one of the top 50 public golf courses in the Chicagoland area. Designed in 1926 by James Foulis, the course has a classic feel to it with challenges that have withstood the test of time. The layout sprawls across a scenic natural landscape accented with gently rolling hills, tall native grasses, and sparkling lakes. The north branch of the Waukegan River also meanders through part of the golf course. The Bonnie Brook layout offers enough of a challenge for advanced players with narrow, tree-lined fairways and subtly tricky undulations throughout the spacious greens, but it is a round that is player friendly enough for any skill level to enjoy.

Manicured like a private club
Not long. Some challenging holes. It was immaculately maintained. Greens were fast and true. Pin placements were very tough.
I will certainly be back. Very fairly priced for the experience.
A Day at Bonnie
Even though it was windy and a league was three holes ahead of us, my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our round. The course is challenging and the folks running Bonnie Brook are friendly.
Love this golf course
Excellent condition ; fairways in great condition and greens fast and always placed in a challenging position. Kudos to the staff!
Good Course If Willing To Drive from Chicago
I have played Bonnie Brooke before (5 years ago) and it was still in great shape today! I really like the course -reminds me of good 'neighborhood' courses back in Michigan. It is fun, somewhat challenging greens but can definitely score on them. All fairways, greens, and tee boxes are in great shape.
Good course for the money
The course was damp after a day of rain and was walk only and there were not enough pull carts. For being damp, I thought the course was in excellent condition (my socks stayed dry).
The course has a few holes that make you think and play strategically. For a public course, it was in great condition with a helpful staff.
The practice green is much faster than the greens on the course.
Muni
The course was fun and fine.. The back nine which Bonnie can't do anything about was so loud with cars with fast and furious mufflers, and revving motorcycles it was hard to enjoy. The city needs to be petitioned to set up a noise ordinance. Couldn't even shout over it at times.
Great staff
I paid to play 18 holes but stopped after 9 since I hurt myself and couldn't continue. Staff was very understanding and kind enougg to give me a raincheck for the other 9. Nice course, will play here more often
Over Priced - greens bad
Have played here several times over the years but won’t be going back anytime soon
This my 10 th round in here this year (5th different course)
And the condition of the greens was awful . Like putting on Velcro. Understand early in the year but they charged $65 !
Every other course I played which are better tests of golf all charged between $40-$55.
I would t pay $65 to play here in the summertime , much better options.
This is a $40-45 golf course at best
They are always friendly and pace of play was good
Layout is ok but greens were bad
If you are willing to $65 for golf you have 30 better options
Go up to Sheppard’s crook for about $50 for a senior
Very disappointing
Wow! We are so happy you enjoyed your round, jimboad2! We look forward to seeing you again soon at Bonnie Brook Golf Course.
