There are two championship golf courses available at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago as well as a top-ranked practice center. The Joe Jemsek Course, formerly known as the Lakewood, was added in 1929, three years after the club opened. Unlike the original St. Andrews Course, the Joe Jemsek Course has a hillier terrain. Although it is shorter than the other golf course at 6,770 yards, the elevation changes make it seem similar in length to the 6,920-yard St. Andrews Course. The course features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers, offering plenty of challenges but overall it is not an overly intimidating layout for beginners. There are several long and demanding par 3s throughout. The best example being the tricky second hole, which has a green that is guarded by two deep bunkers and towering trees.

Nice track
Like the course and layout, play always slow… and golfers don’t care for the course, most divots are not being replaced or filled with sand…. I fixed at least half dozen ball marks on every green…. And the traps are a disaster, not raked regularly by course or golfers. Any shot in the sand needed to be raked before hitting. Wish the golfers care as much about the course as does St Andrews!
Golf 60
I would say thank you to the golf course staff to make my day special on the golf course.We have two of foursome and we want to play on the same course.They help us .The course was at good condition and the peace of play less than 4 hours.We had a great time.
Nice course
Course layout is nice with a couple of challenging holes where laying up may be required if tee shot not solid.
Spectacular
This was my first time at St. Andrews and did not know what to expect. Wow was I impressed. So much greenery. Fairways in mint condition. So peaceful and relaxing. Challenging but not too difficult. Will definitely be playing it on a regular basis
Golf
We are so grateful for the golf course staff to understand our needs and expectations.They are very helpful and supportive.Golf course was a very good condition and greens are near perfect. We have a great time and we will play there again.
Great course
Course was great but staff could lighten up a bit. My group and I were mistakenly only charged for 2 people instead of 3 for carts and they pulled us off the course, made us pay, then sent us out, getting us stuck behind a couple groups, then at the end they told us we took “a little too long” to play. Other wise I love the course, love the range and I would tell any golfer to go to this facility
5hr round
The course was mostly in good shape. One fairway wasn’t cut correctly. The rough was a little deep but fair. Pace of play was really slow probably because of federal holiday. Don’t like you can’t chip with your own balls. Just want to hit a few before playing.
Nice course, not many amenities, uppity rangers
They take good care of the course. The back, or Joe Jeselek course or whatever is fine but doesn't stop back at the half way house at the turn. They don't really provide anywhere else to use the restroom, and then have signs up everywhere to not pee here. I went with a foursome of very amateur golfers. 4 dads that don't get out much trying to have a good time. There was a ranger on the first 4 holes of the course telling us to hurry up. We played best ball, weren't sitting around wasting time, and barely took practice swings. It unfortunately got to a point where we had to be rude to the rangers to get our point across. Nice course, overpriced and they don't seem to really care about your experience
Good Value and Open Availability
St Andrews is a good course overall. I particularly like course #1 definitely need to check it out!
St. Andrew
I was very surprised when I had to pay for cart. I could have golf Arrow Head in Warrenville. Very nice couse includes cart for the same money.
Turtles Pace
The front 9 took over 2 and a half hours with no ranger in sight. They need to do a better job watching people teeing off from the wrong tees. Wanna be golfers teeing it up from the tips does not promote speedy play.
