There are two championship golf courses available at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club in West Chicago as well as a top-ranked practice center. The Joe Jemsek Course, formerly known as the Lakewood, was added in 1929, three years after the club opened. Unlike the original St. Andrews Course, the Joe Jemsek Course has a hillier terrain. Although it is shorter than the other golf course at 6,770 yards, the elevation changes make it seem similar in length to the 6,920-yard St. Andrews Course. The course features tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers, offering plenty of challenges but overall it is not an overly intimidating layout for beginners. There are several long and demanding par 3s throughout. The best example being the tricky second hole, which has a green that is guarded by two deep bunkers and towering trees.

Jemsek course
Great value for the money. Course was in good shape. Played in 4 hours.
Never disappointed
Got to play on the 4th of July
Course was in good shape - it's a bit of a drive for us or we would likely make it our home course -
The Jemsek family does a fantastic job at all of its courses.
Lakewood
Played at 7:15am on a Thursday morning. Nobody out there (2 hour round). Course was in good condition. These courses have been here for 90 years, so the layout is extremely "old school." Overall, very nice condition, speedy round, friendly staff, decent value. Thanks.
Great time
Found a hot deal on a sunday early. Couldn't have been more satisfied. Looking forward to playing the other course

Course was in great condition. Great price at 6pm got 18 in buy 835pm with 2 in group

If you want a great experience/golf course every time, this place delivers!
Worth the money
Course was in great shape. Greens were quick. The good thing here is that if not busy they will let you go out earlier than your time. Only bad part is I was paired with 2 really bad golfers so the pace of play was at 4 hours for our threesome with no one ahead of us. Great practice facility and good halfway house.
Couldn't pass up Hot Deal
Even though the weather was in the 40's, I could not pass up the chance to play the Lakewood course for $15 including the cart. Had not played this course in years. I didn't shoot well, but I also don't usually play when it is this cold. Great mature course with challenging holes for a beginner to intermediate golfer. Good golfers could tear this course up if you know how the holes set up.
Great Spring round
A great place for my first round of the season! The course was in super shape and the greens were quick. It is a good test but fair to the less experienced golfer. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the condition of the bunkers, they were chunky and inconsistent.
Friendly and fun course
One of my favorite courses. Lot of character but still very friendly for mid/high handicappers.
Nice but pretty average
Nice course. All straight holes, pretty average and easy skill level; par 3's are long tho and there are a couple long par 4's. Course doesn't have a turn so they need beverage carts or beverage stations throughout the course open. Water stations weren't even up. Food was great and staff was very friendly.
Great value excellent course
Great course with an excellent mix of moderate to challenging holes. Par three's were fun from the tips. Great place to take a group of friends for a friendly round.
Tougher than it appears!
I've played this course a number of times and really enjoy the challenge. The set up is somewhat challenging with certain holes playing longer than you think. Even the short par 4's have their risk / reward dangers. Overall, I enjoy playing here and will continue to come back.
Great Shape for Fall Golf
Always worry about aeration, etc. at this time of year but Course #2 was in very good shape.
Great Round
I had played at St. Andrews years ago, not sure which course I had played at the time. Played course #2 this time around with a customer. The course was well maintained and worth the money. Only complaint was about the cart girl for drinks. Saw her a total of two times in the round, and each time she never once stopped to ask if we needed anything.
Overall, course was great and I will definitely be back after making my 25ft putt on 18!!
Our Lucky Day!
We were fortunate to play between rains. It was cart path only but for all the rain the course was in excellent shape. No water on the greens so putting was great except ours. Everything on the course was in tip top shape. I highly recommend it especially if it rains.
Nice layout
St.Andrews is always a decent round. Never been disappointed playing there.
Moderate nice course
Moderate nice cozy course. Pretty good for senior and female golfer on # 2 course.
Great for driving and putting challenge.
Enjoy the ability to challenge my course management and putting skills. Well taken care of course if golfers would repair ball marks on greens.
