Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Great course great staff
Course is in great condition. Greens are well maintained. Good for all level of player. My foursome took an hour of lessens with the Pro. He was great and geared the lesson to each player. All in all it was a enjoyable day. I would highly recommend St. Andrews.

NOT SURE WHY CART PATHS ONLY
Course really was dry. No need for cart paths only. Really made for a slow round on a chilly day.
Lots of leaves on the greens. Hard to putt bit get it with the weather.

Course has been my home course Look forward to another round The only Thing the price of carts for single golfers I understand when its busy I have been a lot lately I have enjoyed walking the course But when its not busy can you lower cart prices a bit would get more income for course that way

Cart overload
I enjoy playing at St. Andrews, both courses. What I couldn’t believe is the cost to get a cart for a single person $23. I was stunned as it had been $15 last year or $25 for 2 . Being a Sr I don’t like walking 18 holes, I don’t mind walking 9. I hope they lower the cost of a cart for a single.
