Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Great round of golf. Course is straight and tree lined . Green are wicked and depending on flag placement brutal. They roll true to path. Loved playing there. Definitely recommended.

5 hour and 20 minute round.
5 hours and 20 minutes for 18 holes….no rangers. When I said something to someone at the pro shop I was told “It’s a Sunday afternoon on a public course.” I guess tough luck for me. And the course wasn’t busy, just 3 really slow foursomes.
I like the course I play it 2 times a month and will be back but this is ridiculous.

Thank you for your comments. Sunday actually was busy. We had over 230 players. We also had a ranger working. When players have an issue on the course, we always encourage them to call in 630-231-3100 ext. 114. We could have sent the ranger right to you. He could have checked out the issue or even moved you to the other course if the pace was better over there. We appreciate your loyalty to our courses and encourage you to contact us if you encounter an issue in the future.
Great Course !!
Incredible course for the local area. Not your typical back and forth on flat ground. This course has fairways that slope, change altitude and the greens have many areas to contend with.
Bring your “A” game, or suffer some 3-putts or even a few 4-putts. Fun time !!
