Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

For just opening for the season the course was in great shape and finished 18 in just under 4 hours.

Golf in Spring
Can't complain much this is the only open golf course on this time of the year. The tee box was still frozen and cannot put the tee on icy surface. The green is still with some snow and the putting is not fun. Otherwise it will be good when weather comes up nice.

Winter Round
One of the few places you can get out during the winter.
just play 9 hole.
snow all around golf club. can't play.
I dont know why they open golf couse.
very very angry and I just play 8 hole and cameout!!!

St Andrews
This time of year, have no fear, St. Andrews is hear. All you need to know if you're a serious golfer is to notice the practice facilities, cart covers and the choice to play one of two fun and challenging courses. Pro shop has everything you need. The food and drink is top notch. Lastly, if you want to say 'I Do' there, St. Andrews can handle that with class as well.

Great round of golf. Course is straight and tree lined . Green are wicked and depending on flag placement brutal. They roll true to path. Loved playing there. Definitely recommended.
