Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

St Andrew golf
Course was in good shape and pace of course was great. Greens were very good and challenging.
Staff friendliness
I’m not going any more because of the customer treatment and every time I ask them that I want to play the course # 2 they tell me I can’t ,they always put me in the course # 1
St. Andrews
Always a good course, but need to find a deal, as it is usually a little over priced. Pace of play was pretty bad, I think they can improve with that.
One of the best golf courses
I and my family have been playing at Saint Andrews golf course for a generation. We think it is one of the best courses around. We bring friends here all the time, and they love the course too.
Saint Andrews
This is old school golf at its best , great staff ,condition always above average and the rates are great ! This is the way golf courses were meant to look ,tree lined large well manicured greens with huge green side bunkers. Love to play there and you will use every club in the bag . There are tees for every handicap. Level .from the pro shop to the starters and the rangers it’s the way it should be !
Great fun course
We play this course early spring late fall and on and off in the summertime. It’s a great course with great staff and good food after playing
Great old track
St. Andrews is great old track...both courses will test you even on the calmest of days...staff is also great.. especially enjoy the service and food at JJ’s Pub.. and don’t forget the 5 Star Practice facility next door, great turf, great chipping area, highly recommended!
Consistently good
St. Andrews is a nice track and always in good shape. The fairways are nice and the. Greens run at a nice pace. With all this rain the bunkers are very wet on some holes. That’s the only issue.
Always Enjoyable
St. Andrews is one of the best managed golf courses in the area. Because of all the recent rain, it was in excellent shape. We got a great deal on Golfnow and really enjoyed our round. The only problem was that the threesome in front of us played slow and so it was a five hour round.
Just good golf
Course always in good shape. Can play as hard or easy as they wish depending on pin placements. You won’t loose many golf balls but you won’t shoot your lowest score either.
Great place to play golf!
St. Andrews in West Chicago is simply outstanding. The staff is wonderful and takes golf seriously. The practice facility is the best in the Chicagoland area.
The courses are challenging and well maintained.
The prices are reasonable.
I have taken many lessons at St. Andrews and they are the best at teaching the game of golf.

Just good golf experience.
Played the # 1 course and #2 course recently. Both always well maintained. Tess and fairways in great shape. They can make the greens as difficult as needed by controlling the speed. The staff is friendly and clubhouse has a great bar for after the round. You can’t go wrong here.
Great facilities
St Andrew's gives out an old school vibe with the manicured landscaping and state of the art practice facility. Staff is very good and patient. We played 36 holes had a great gush sandwich in between rounds. Daily green fees are rare but Joe Jemsek swore by them .
I have been playing here since 1982 and its has improved overtime.
