St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - St. Andrews Course
About
Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Make sure your phone is charged before playing.
Everthing is fine at this facility with exception of the rangers. Do not expect them to do anything to quicken the pace of play. Waited for a threesome on every tee. I was a part of a threesome, and later as a foursome...brutal.
Great greens
Golf course was still up to par. Unfortunately we were in a cart and they paired us up with two people walking. Greens were good, the fairways were good.
This course is worth the price.
If your looking for a rebound course St. Andrews is your place. Grass and matted range for warm up. The tee boxes are in good condition. Greens are large and have a good amount of action. Fairways are wide on most holes. You shouldn’t lose a ball on this course, unless you go in the water.
Highly recommended
Course was in great shape and very challenging. Layout was great. Only complaint was no cart person and city water instead of water coolers. Would definitely play again.
Ranger? What Ranger?
I went off at 5:24 as a single with a cart. Immediately hit two people walking who wouldn’t let me through. In front of them was a parent/child with only the child playing who was maybe 10 y/o. People quickly caught up to me. Had to wait on every single tee twice over because the walkers were waiting for the kid in front of them and the. I had to wait on the walkers. I will not be returning to St. Andrews for golf anytime soon, I paid for 18 holes and course staff did nothing to help me.
Where's the sand?
Course OK, Sand traps very poor and inconsistent. For the price, I believe the course should be in better condition.

Wonderful Course, Friendly & Helpful Staff
We would definitely recommend St. Andrews. We've held our golf outing there and were extremely pleased and impressed. They went out of their way to be sure everything was perfect and everyone was happy. THANK YOU!
not playing here again
Staff in pro shop not friendly.
Pace of play is a joke 5 ½ hours to play 18
20 minuet wait at first tee to go out.
People driving all over the course with the carts.
No ranger out to inforce pace of play.
Hello. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for any issues with he staff and the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and to best control pace allowing everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve, and we are glad to see you rated the course conditions to be great during your game. Thank you for playing St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - Saint Andrews Course. We hope to see you again soon.
Excellent Conditions, Great Courses
I love playing St. Andrews Golf and Country Club! The courses are in excellent condition, greens are smooth, fairways are lush, mown and watered. Par threes are challengingly long on the Lakeview (Joe Jemsek) course, but fairly so. If you like playing golf, you'll like St. Andrews.
Some things never change..
This course is a pleasure every time I play it. Fast play. Big open spaces between holes for a private feel. Great bar/restaurant. Cool staff who knows and loves the game. Amazing sand trap bunkers! Better than every public course around. General course condition is also excellent. Me and my buddies play this course a dozen times a year. There are better courses in the Chicagoland area but you’ll pay a lot more and you might not enjoy yourself as much.
Good time
Unfortunately play was extremely slow and starters did nothing. Course was in great shape and we will be back again but I wish they would focus more on keeping the golfers going. Play was 5 hours and 20 minutes. Way too long!!
Fairways
Fairways were deep seems to be a trend after Wednesday greens need arrested and sanded.

Great course for price
Course layout was very good, people are very friendlier, there were some water and mud in the bunker but you cannot blame the course for that since there was a lot of rain few days before but otherwise I would strongly recommend playing, Starters and other staff were very courteous and very cooperative
Great greens
We were greeted by a friendly gentleman in the clubhouse that is her key and we were off to play in no time.
I would say the price of $27.50 for nine holes were a tad high in consideration with other golf courses in the area being a few dollars less but still not a bad price.
The carts were dried off and ready to go after a rainy night.
The greens we're in great condition along with the fairways especially with all the rain but it was not soggy good draining.
Pace of play was fantastic considering we got out there at 6:01 a.m. so needless to say we had nobody ahead of us.
For an older course and it course that is used in a lot four outings the keep it well maintained one of the best in the area.
St. Andrews Proshop-
Your rangers did nothing to encourage pace of play or let singles like myself through. I understand a busy tee sheet however rangers should be doing their jobs instead of driving around and sitting in their carts. I talked to the gentleman at the driving range desk since the proshop was closed and he said there was nothing that could be done because I booked on Golfnow and "You got a good rate so you should just be happy with that." No thanks, I won't be returning unless I get a credit for the holes I was unable to play due to obscene lack of ranger activity.
