St. Andrews Golf & Country Club - St. Andrews Course
About
Opened in 1926, in the "Classical ERA" of U.S. course development, St. Andrews Golf & Country Club has been recognized as the oldest family owned-operated golf course in Illinois.
St. Andrews Golf & Country Club was originally built in 1926 as a rival to the Chicago Golf Club. Since then, the club has built its own reputation and stands out for its two championship golf courses and top-ranked practice center. The St. Andrews Course is the club's original layout before the Joe Jemsek Course was added in 1929. It is also the longer of the two golf courses. The club and course draw their name from the famous Scottish club known as the "home of golf," but the course is far from being a seaside links. Instead, the mostly flat layout weaves through mature trees. The golf course offers a challenge with tight, tree-lined doglegs and large, contoured greens framed with sand bunkers. It has a memorable finish with a par 4 that features a water hazard along the entire right side of the fairway.

Very clean golf course
Everybody love to play when the golf course is nice and clean. Plus nobody rushes you...
Nice Course
I understand that it was Mar 25 and pipes for fountains arfe off but not one 5 gallon igloo was put out. No water was available. Very disappointed
A good warm up after a long winter off
Saint Andrews Golf & Country Club was in great shape for this time of year. The greens were very slow but the fairway and sand traps were in excellent shape for March. The staff was extremely nice and except for a very deliberate twosome in front of us the day was perfect.
Decent course for the money
Played mid week on a windy day. Hot deal too good to pass up. Course gets a lot of play and is open in winter so it gets beat up. Overall not too bad of shape given the time of year. Greens were fine and appeared to be maintained. Several areas under repair so look out. Would recommend with hot deal or if looking for a last minute tee time.
Open year round
I played both courses. Course one is more challenging, and course two has a lot of long and wide fairways. I would defiantly suggest playing both.
So, so
I understand winter that course's condition is not good, anyway thanks for golfing even cold weather.
Course in good shape
Course was in good shape, some leaves on the side but is fall. Ruff a bit long easy to lose a ball. Greens were in good shape and on the first side.
Course conditions were above average
Very good layout. Ran into a few challenging holes.I would play the course again.
Good Course
I thought this was a very good course. the greens are big and difficult. My only disappointment was the greens did not have the leaves blown off them.
Great course
Challenging course in great shape.
Great pace of play!
Old style layout. Tree lined.
Soft turf and greens. Not much roll today.
Great Hot Deal price today.
friendly staff---great greens
You feel welcome as soon as you arrive----the course is in excellent condition for this time or any time of the year---congrats to the greens keeper.'s staff.
Will definitely go back before the winter winds arrive
Nice course
Nicel kept and well run. Lots of space and trees. Also nice practice facilities.
Well maintained, pretty course
St. Andrews is a very nice course in West Chicago.
It was not too long from the white and red tees and just challenging enough for different handicaps.
Staff was friendly and the course was in excellent condition.
Good track
It was early morning and the course was in great shape. Greens were running slower than normal. Causing you to add some tempo to the putt. Pace of play was great considering we played between 2 permanent tee times. Course is straight forward and pin placement was like tournament play. Par 3 12th hole from the blues was 228 with a tree in line with the flag. Forced you to hit a high draw or lay short and chip up.
Best sand and greens all summer
I chipped out of the sand the ball landed 4" from the cup and rolled on 10" more, best sand in a long time anywhere. The course is in great shape overall l know we've had a good amount off rain but you still have to groom and maintain good job
Excellent green to smoot & nice
Thanks to GolfNow a playing well mike same birdies , Love this course.
