About
Chevy Chase Country Club (formerly known as Traditions at Chevy Chase Country Club) in Wheeling is one of Chicagoland's top public golf facilities. Thomas Bendelow designed the golf course in 1925. The classic layout remained largely the same until 2002 when a major renovation updated the course and made it more challenging. The layout now has deep pot bunkers lined with tall native fescue that border the generous, rolling greens and undulating fairways. Though it is more challenging than it was, the golf course still offers a player-friendly round. Four sets of tees also ensure that golfers can play to their skill level. The course finishes with its signature hole, a par 5 that features water both left and right of the landing area off the tee. Three massive bunkers and yet another pond all fiercely guard the green as well.

Chevy Chase GolfNow Hot Deal
nice course. slow pace. Golf carts were excellent. fast and sweet GPS. Cart path only on a beautiful sunny day. not sure why. Sand (mud) traps were bad.
Absolute steal for the cost
Absolutely gorgeous course in top condition. Beautiful and challenging course with decent length from the tips. I would highly recommend this course to anyone and will be playing this course again soon.

Well maintained course in a beautiful setting
Just played this course yesterday and would definitely play it again. It is very well maintained and in a beautiful wooded setting. It has a nice variety of holes that test your skills but still make it so that an average player can score and have a lot of fun in the process. I highly recommend this course if you’re in the area.

Great Condition and a great price!
Sporty course in great condition. Smooth, fast greens, well bunkered. Fairways were smooth with few divots. You'll use every club in your bag and have a great time!

Played here dozens of time, love the layout- hate the staff
the starter has no clue what’s going on here most days. booked a hot deal cause of course construction and got stuck behind two old walkers who moved their time up an hour right in front on my in the clubhouse. starter would not let me go ahead of them ( nobody was in front of them for 4 holes) because of time. I was solo rider age 25. I get that time matters but let’s shoot for efficiency over principal. was stuck behind the two walked every hole for 4.5 hours. Love this layout and course, bit tight but overall nice round.

Great local course
It was cart path only. Never a fan of this, but the course was wet and understandable.
This caused problems with the fore some behind us. One of their players was using an amplified music player. We he left the cart he was unwilling to turn down the loudness . We asked him to do so. He became belligerent and wanted to start a fight with my son in law. After calling the pro shop someone came out. Those folks ignored the ranger. The turned it up on other holes. Called again but no one came. I think there should be a policy against amplified music at traditions.

Course was on good condition. Greens roll true. Our foursome played in played in 4 hours. Old school design. Fun layout.

Warn us about the greens!
The staff was wonderful, the course was a decent layout, enjoyable, however, the greens were in horrid condition. As a single-digit handicapper, it takes away 2 to 6 strokes. A heads up would have been appreciated.
