Nice course
Slow play......................................................................................................
VERY good course
Very good course!!! Will definitely play there again. Everything was inviting from the moment you dropped of your clubs! A must play.
Great Customer Service
This is a course that knows how to treat their customers. Starter was fantastic explaining the GPS system. Course was in very good condition and took advantage of the half price appetizer coupon when we where done.
Good golf course but very tough back nine
Pros: Staff was fine. Facilities are nice. Course was in great shape considering how much water flows thru the course. Cons: No driving range, just a net to hit into. GPS on our golf carts gave us different yardage readings. Front nine is fun and playable. Back nine has a crazy amount of water on it. I am not a good enough golfer anymore to play a course this difficult, even from the white tees.
Swamped
Due to recent heavy rains, it was cart paths only. Pace of play was so slow that I quit after 16 holes and walked / carried my clubs back to the clubhouse. As I made my way, I saw the cause of the slow play. A foursome (2 couples) who were total hackers were at least 3 holes behind the group in front of them. There were rangers on the course but they didn't seem to encourage the group to pick up their pace
Let's be honest
Seven Bridges, an incredibly challenging golf course but still leaves it a little to be desired the way it presents itself. A few years back they started charging a rack rate of $100 on the weekend. A $100 course has a driving range, Seven Bridges does not but they have bag staff you can tip for no reason. A $100 course still has fast, well rolled and well cut greens despite one of the worst winters in recent memory, Seven Bridges did not. Very bumpy and didn't roll true. The course layout is so beautiful and challenge, but when putts don't roll right it loses everything.
Lose the foursome only booking policies and you'll fill up more tee times on golfnow and get some grounds budget to turn the place back into what it was 4-5 years ago.
Seven Bridges
Booked a foursome at a discounted rate. I had played the course a year ago in a scramble so I wanted to play again, but not at their normal rate. The tee boxes and greens were a bit beat up, but the rest of the course was in good condition. The course was definitely challenging. The pace of play was pretty good. I'd play again at the discounted rate.
So that's what a good course plays like....
Great experience. Challenges throughout but enough open spots for high handicap players like me to get out of trouble. Beautiful and well kept. Great pace but I was there on a Friday at 12:00. Awesome patio if weather permits.
All in all this is what all courses should provide but average people can't spend 100.00 on greens fees so most won't have the kind of day we had without being invited to an outing etc. Which is why the sport in on the decline; price.
Nice staff, below average course and way overpriced.
No range, bunkers like clay, tee boxes a mess and greens in terrible condition. Don't think a player on the course knows how to fix a ball mark. Way, way overpriced @ $110.00. Should be half the cost. One last thing. Take after some of your competition and offer two separate rates. One for riding and one for walking. Only reason I gave an overall two stars is for the very friendly staff.
Course has been on my Chicagoland to play list for several years and unfortunately will not play again or recommend to my friends.
Too much, too far
I live in the city's, close to the lake therefore it is a 1 hr 10 minutes in NO traffic and 1.5 back in. If this course was less EXPENSIVE, I would play more. It's a nice set up.
Overpriced
The course is good, but I felt it was overpriced compared to comparable courses in the Chicago area and especially given there is no range.
Challenge course
Good course, but too slow, need better management.
With the amount of rain we got in the Morning
The course was in great shape even after the amount of rain we got in the morning. Will come back again and recommend to others. Thanks
perfect sunday
Everyone was super friendly. The course was very well maintained and for the higher range pricing I can say it was worth it. I'd recommend a round of golf at Seven Bridges any day.
Great time, great course
I played here with three buddies on July 5th 2014. The course is in excellent shape. It's very challenging and for a group of 7-12 index golfers we all shot our higher rounds for the year but the course is fair but will eat you up with errant golf shots. Lots of water. I really enjoyed many holes that made you strategically place your shots. This is NOT a grip it and rip it course. There are par 5's that you will be placing your 2nd shot with a 7 or 8'iron and par 4 s where a 4 or 5 iron is the best shot selection off the tee. Highly recommend if you want to have a great time and donate a few balls to the water gods!
We had the course to ourselves on a beautiful Sunday afternoon
We played as a threesome at 11 am on a hot sunny Sunday. One group a few holes in front - we caught up to their hole but did little waiting. One group behind - never played on the same hole as us. Pace was very relaxed. We finished in under 4 hours. Course was in great shape. The (somewhat) higher greens fees are well worth it for the quality of the course and the spacing between groups.
Nice course
I really enjoy this course. However I would not recommend getting out after there is something like 3 inches of rain in a short couple days. Many of the bunkers where ponds and parts of the course were partially flooded. That said I feel it drained better than many courses would have under the conditions. Still a nice course with some challenging approach shots as well as greens. It's not difficult to navigate and other golfers were courteous (3 foursomes offered to let our twosome play thru). The food is good for a quick bite at the turn or great for a meal after or just a drink. Nice views.
beautiful course
It's well-maintained beautiful course, only 20 miles outside of Chicago. Don't get fooled by the relatively easy front nine holes. All the bridges (thus the course name, Seven Bridges - the ranger told me there are more than seven bridges; i lost count) are in the back nine! As one can imagine, it become much more challenging for the back nine. Each hole presents its challenges and makes things interesting. My group had a great time, though our scores didn't reflect it. If you want a high-quality golf course not too far from the city, you may want to give this course a try. Super friendly and helpful staff. The green fee is a bit stiff (~ $100), but i think it's worth it.
Beautiful Course
Haven't played there in about 10 years. Couse is in good condition, very beautiful.
