Never disappoints.
Course layout and condition is top notch.
Only thing I can complain about is the geese issue on the the 7th green.
Great Course
Conditioning of the course was excellent.
The course superintendent has done a great job.
The green are fast, fairways in great condition and the rough is long and penal.
The bunkers have very good sand and are deep.
Interesting layout and country club quality.
It is worth the drive to play this course
Challenging golf course
Course is in great condition. Very challenging especially with the sloppy and fast greens. Perfect link style course. Wonderful and friendly staff, Enjoyed playing this course,
Only negative is their GPS system doesn't show where pin is located on green and since I don't use a range finder sometimes the pins were not where I believed. Other than that, great golf course!
Diamond in the rough
Shepherds Crook Golf Course has to be one of the most meticulously cared for golf courses in southeastern Wisconsin. Beautiful course, Friendly staff, and spectacular Brats. Amazing putting green will get you prepared for the challenging greens you will encounter throughout your round. Do yourself a solid and play Shepherds Crook, you’ll be majorly impressed.

The layout is fun/challenging and it's in great shape. You won't be disappointed!
One of the three best courses in Lake County, Illinois
I’ve been playing this golf course since it first opened nearly 25 years ago and it keeps getting better and better. I almost don’t want to put such a great review in as it seems a lot of people have started catching onto what a great course this is. It was nice when we had it to our self and not as many people knew about it. But that would be selfish and really I think this is just a gem of a course that lots of people would enjoy playing. The only negatives that there’s no driving range but they put in a really cool potting range not long ago. Highly recommend…

Pro Shop Attendant Needs to Figure Out a Better Payment System
Booked through GolfNow as a prepaid tee time. I show up to check in at the pro shop. Attendant tells me it’s not prepaid. Sorry buddy, it is. I said I’ll show you right here on the GolfNow app and I’ll show you the credit card charge. Then proceeds to tell me they don’t do discounts. No crap, it’s a discount through GolfNow, not Shepherds Crook. Tried to make us pay twice but I refused showing multiple forms of proof. Then, this guy says it’s a walking rate. Sir, it literally shows ‘CART INCLUDED’ on the tee time. Please figure this out so it doesn’t happen twice because now I’m out of $60 since one of our spots got there early and paid, and now won’t be me for the tee time. Attendant needs an attitude check.
It’s a little bit off of any main highways, but it’s worth the trip. The course layout is beautiful and there aren’t many flat on the greens or fairways, but if you like links golf, you will feel like you’re in Ireland. The staff is great. It’s worth playing.
