Late season round in the fog ... nice!
My son and I played a late season round after an inch of rain the night before and fog shrouding the course until the back nine ... would do it all over again!
The staff was ready and the course, considering everything, was in good shape.
A little notice about some tees being unusable because of aeration would have been nice.
Love This Course
I played Aberdeen on 9/25/20. This was the second time I played there this year; the last was in July. I am happy to say the course has held up well. The greens were smooth and had a nice pace to them. The tees are beginning to show some signs of wear, but that is to be expected this late in the season. The course is in remarkable shape and it is good to see it has rebounded from a few years ago, when it was getting in rough shape. The indoor staff and beverage cart were very friendly and courteous. If I lived twenty minutes closer to this course, I would have no second thoughts about joining. I always enjoyed playing Aberdeen and I will definitely be back.

Got a great deal on golf now.
We played on a beautiful Monday. Course was in fantastic shape. It’s a challenging layout and you will hit many different clubs off the tee due to the routing and forced layups and forced carries.
We haven’t played for a couple of years and with the exception of one or two holes it was in fantastic shape. Areas with ground under repair were clearly marked.
Greens were soft and many approach shots left deep pitch marks (toupees), which we repaired. The good news is everyone else also repair their pitch marks so the greens rolled smooth and where relatively quick.
It’s a fun golf course and there are several birdie holes if you play the course as the designer intended. It’s not a bombers course but it’s certainly fun to play.

A tad wet and spongy but overall has improved
Aberdeen is a fantastic value. $27 senior rate w/cart on weekdays! Awesome. I play it at least once or twice a year....and over the past couple of years the course conditioning has very much improved......especially fairways.....but still it's over watered in many areas......some places never dry out!! A number of tee boxes need work and should be leveled out a bit. Pace of play slowed at the turn....cart path only 10-13......and we had a solid 20-25 minute wait to tee off on the 10th unfortunately. Other than that a great day.....greens that rolled nicely and above average conditions. Folks are friendly and they stock cans of Yeungling brewskis a nice change of pace for us Chicagoans. Highly recommend this place...solid 4 starts for me......fun interesting holes and again stress what a great golfing value this course is during the week....a lot of bang for your golf buck. I can play this place 3 times and be far happier than playing once at some of the overpriced tracks around Chicago....you know like Cog Hill, Cantigy, etc, etc.....it's.well worth the drive folks.

Not so great tee boxes
My only complaint is the multiple dome shaped tee boxes. Nobody should have to begin a hole playing a shot above or below their feet.

Great condition
Got a hot deal off of golf now and aged a quality and maintained course. Bunkers were questionable.

What a day for golf!
The Course at Aberdeen has been on a roller coaster through the years - some peaks, some valleys. The course is definitely climbing! The fairways and greens are great considering the amount of play. The only issue is tee box maintenance ... the amount of play has left many boxes in middling to poor shape (I have no remedy - but it is a fact). If you live in or around Valpo and want a nice round, there can hardly be a better value than Aberdeen. Thanks folks for a great day!!!

It was worth the drive !!!!! Very challenging must choose the right club. Fairways slightly hard where you can get some extra yards . Some dry spots . Greens had a few dry divots but overall good. We can’t wait to go back knowing now where the fairways lead into the greens . Holes are far apart where a cart is a must .
