Painfully slow play
We had to call it a day after 13. It was cart path only, which is to be expected in winter, but the pace was too slow regardless. I saw several other groups leaving early like we did. Kearney is a great course but I don’t know that I’ll be back given the slow pace.
In Good Shape
Kearney was in good shape all around -- greens, fairways, tees, rough all good. Gorgeous setting with the Fall colors.
Great Course
First time playing this course, never knew Lexington had a links course. I try to play a different course each time I visit home, and this course just moved up as my favorite.
Course layout has plenty of challenges for golfers of any skill level, big greens that also challenges your reading capabilities. I was paired with two guys that gave me the lay of the land, which was like having a personal caddie.
Really enjoyed the course, can't wait to play it again.
Simple request
Whoever is in charge of placing the tee markers. Turn the numbers towards the cart path. Ball marks on the greens, like everywhere are ridiculous. Fixing Ball marks should be taught at the clubhouse before every tee time. Golfers should be happy that they hit a green and take pride in fixing their mark.
Hidden Gem
Links style course, beautiful, open design with friendly staff. Challenging but fun course to play.
A challenge
This is a well maintained course, staff was helpful and friendly. We got behind a 5 some and had to call the pro shop to help speed up play, they responded quickly and took care of the problem. This course is not what I call senior friendly many long par 4’s best to play up if your an older golfer imho.
Easily the best public course in central KY
Played early in the morning, paired with a walker. only groups ahead of us were two singles. We completed 18 in about three hours, without feeling like we were hurried.
The course was in great shape after recent rains broke drought conditions.
In my opinion it is the best public course in central Kentucky.
