Aesthetically Pleasing Course
This is the fourth time I’ve golfed at Cherry Oaks, and each time never disappoints. The course is in wonderful shape, the greens are challenging and force you to make good reads in order to avoid the dreaded 3-putt, and the staff is very friendly.
Considering I golfed on an 80-degree Friday afternoon, I got lucky that the course wasn’t clogged up with other golfers. I played okay, but holing a 38-foot birdie putt on 18 really helped salvage my day.
I will be back and will definitely recommend to others in the Wichita-area who are tired of the overcrowded (Auburn Hills) and poorly maintained (MacDonald) courses in the city.
this course is well kept
The course was very nice. The front 9 was a little confusing not knowing the layout because it used to be a 9 hole then turned into an 18. Was a fantastic course. The greens were fast and very challenging but was an excellent way to get you putting down.
Basic layout but greens will present a challenge if on wrong side of the pin, always enjoy playing in Cheney
Cold & Windy
It was cold and windy! The wind was blow so hard that on some of the greens it would adversely effect the way the ball would track.
Windy day on the links
My worst day on the golf course is better any day working. The wind was blowing about 40 mph, and it was only the 2nd time I had played in the past 6 months. I didn’t play particularly well but I managed to break 100. I shot a 95!
Kansas course in Mid December
The fairways and greens are green and iin great shape. Well managed course 20 miles west of Wichita Ks
Cheery Oaks Golf Course
Great golf course, big greens, warm up before round, 1st hole is a long one.
Terrible Clubhouse Etiquette
If you play on a hot deal, plan to be treated like trash at check in! It’s very apparent the course personnel detests anyone playing on Golfnow hotdeals! I’ve been hassled multiple times by the head maintenance man who has a real issue with Golfnow users. This was my last round I’ll ever play at this course!!!
Kansas Gem
The cold morning was quickly warmed by the great reception in the pro shop. Sharon made us feel at home. Played with three members of their senior group and felt like one of the gang. Course conditions were excellent. Reaching the greens was easy but the greens are challenging. An eagle on #5 helped make my day. Cherry oaks is worth the time to get there.
Cherry Oaks
Had to golf back nine 2x because we were told front nine was closed. Other than that, enjoyable round of golf. When trees on back nine mature like front nine trees will be a really nice course. Love the greens - presents some really challenging putts especially if ball is on wrong side of pin.
Easy playing course
Cherry oaks is great for beginners with wide fairways but still challenging for experienced players. The large greens offer even the best of putters a variety of reads based on pin placement. The coarse is still young so as trees mature it will just get better. Overall a fun relaxing coarse to play.
Great value for the money
This course is in small town America but you wouldn't know it by the course conditions. Even in the blazing summer heat it still stays playable. The greens roll true and youd think you were at a country club. It's well worth the 25 minute drive from wichita to go play cherry oaks. Number 1 is probably the most difficult par 4 in the area. Make sure to play from the fairway because the rough is thick. The back 9 plays much different than the front because it was added much later than the front. You really can't beat the price of this course with the hot deal!
