The course is in better shape than years past, and a good value $$
Played on the afternoon of July 19th! Since the back nine is no longer open- you play the front 9 twice for your 18 holes. This is fine with me but obviously prefer back in the day getting to play 18 different holes, especially considering the back 9 had a few really fun ones. That being said, nice greens and they’ve taken out some of the trees that were pesky for critical shots. We paid $25 for 18 holes and a cart which is a good value these days.
The course is improving each week
The course is getting better. The greens are good. not fast but smooth. The fairways are coming in. The cart paths are bad. staff inside is great.
The course is getting better. very playable now.
The course it getting better. Greens rolled good. Fairways are improving. Cart paths are still bad. Lots of progress from what the course used to be when it got 1 star ratings.
Good course if your if your not good
good place to get on with last notice, olny 9 holes and alot of people play 18 holes and backs everything up and it dont help with peolpe that dont have golf adequate, looking for balls too long while busy
Not Good
I understand the struggles golf courses are going through at this time. But this was laughable. It wasn’t clear to me why the golf course was open at this time. The fairways were torn up. Greens were only serviceable part of the course. It’s only 9 holes which is fine. But not worth the money I paid to play. Not even close. I don’t know what pictures they are using but I didn’t see anything like the pictures while out there. I won’t be back. I can find much better in the area for the price.
Not worth what they charge
Course was super beat up, they are re doing the fairways and it was pretty crowded. Not worth what they charge for green fees.
Bad course
This course used to be a decent place and 18 holes! Now only a 9 hole course and the fairways were in bad condition! The cart path were worse! Don’t recommend this course at all!
Good Value
This 9 hole course needs work on the fairways and tee boxes. The greens have been aerated and are responding nicely. There have been strips of zoysia laid in the fairways so the fairways may be nice in the future. Easy in and out however they need to have a ranger on hole #1 & 10 to direct those starting their round and those turning back to #1/10
Priced right
This is just an average course. Course not in great shape but for $15 what do you expect.
Needs work
No water or working restroom facilities, greens pretty much dead. Staff was friendly and knew they needed to do a lot of work over the off season.
Jungle Golf at its finest
If you don't play a lot, or just don't care to spend a ton of money... This is probably a good starting point. The good: they have a range!
The bad.... Just about everything else. Greens were in poor condition, the fairways... Were hard to find and played like they would in your neighbor's yard (the one who doesn't mow that is), and you'll probably lose a ball or three even if you hit it right down the middle.
But I digress, you get what you pay for. Plain and simple.
If you're not used to hitting fairways it's Ok.
The course had almost no fairways. They were like most course's ruff. Greens were bumpy and many big dead patches. The layout was fine just needs alot of attention and weed killer. Hard to find balls in fairway clover patches. I may play it again because it is so close to me, but if I have the time I will play another course.
Worst Experience ( Needs new management)
I have went to this coarse a handful of times in the past two years (because it is the closest coarse to me) and have never been impressed with the conditions but most of all very unimpressed with the staff at Gardner Golf Coarse. The Staff there haggles with people on the price. This week I was trying to get 9 in at 6pm. The manager harassed me about how he needs to close and then tried to get me to pay extra 5$. You are better off going to Prairie Highlands where they are friendly and take care of the course and their customers.
Course has seen better days
Cheap, yet still a bit overpriced. Played this Course several times before, but never seen it in this bad of shape. Bunkers, greens, rough, fairways- all in terrible condition. Can't recommend this course unless you are looking for a place to hack away.
Even at $20, this place is way overpriced!!!! And it costs more at the course??? Not worth it at all. Too bad, it used to be OK.
I think that replacing the management would only be the start of trying to salvage this course, but I certainly wouldn't argue that it wouldn't hurt!
