Longer Drive
Course had aerated greens and fairways a few weeks ago and it still was evident on greens. Rained at half Way point but got rain check. Enjoy playing here even though a long drive.
Hilly country setting
The course was in good shape. No water out on the course. I will play again and recommend to others.
Great course, great value
I was pleasantly surprised I didn’t know about this course. It was beautiful and difficult. I would definitely recommend and will be back.
Played many times and is always a challenge love the hills, valleys, and water
This is a very challenging course greens are fine and there are many hills and valleys got to be on your game to score well. played this course many times and is always fun to play. Getting to the course is not easy but is nice once you are there.
Better Course than I was expecting
After recently moving to northern Northern Kentucky, I mostly play Ohio courses.
I have played 3 other southern Campbell Co courses - AJ Jolly, NKY Golf Club & Twin Bridges ea once this year. Out of the 4, I can't say that I would prefer any over the others as they are all nice courses in the country.
The greens at Hickory Sticks were recently fertilized, but they rolled true and were fairly fast. They have kept up with clearing leaves, and the fairways and rough are in good shape for this time of year. Being up on the hills near the river, there is definitely some elevation change on a few holes. Finishing with back to back par 5s is a nice touch.
I will play Hickory Sticks again in 2018.
hilly but fair
Nice layout ! slow group up front,no marshal.
fast greens ( hey it's November)
rained Out
We were rained out.I called the course and they said there was water on the Greens. I had guest from out of town and we are all 60 plus and nobody was willing to go.It rained all day long.
New Greens Keeper is great !
Course has a new greens keeper that clearly is working his magic on the greens. Rolling very fair and getting smoother. Can't wait until next year to see what another season can do for the course
Hilly, scenic, fair course
I've played this course 3 times now. I'm not sure if it just fits my eye or what but I had my best scores on this course. It is hilly but you tend to have flat lies because of the layout. Nice views on some of the holes and the greens are average speed. You'll like this course if your not a long hitter. Some of the par 4's are very reachable.
Hickory Sticks. Hidden Gem
We played at Hickory Sticks the other day and had a great round, moving at a steady pace throughout. We had trouble on a few holes where the ball was hit to the second cut and lost. Yet, overall, the course was is in nice shape. A beautiful day and great views!
For the money, I would say Hickory Sticks is my favorite course!
Nice test of golf.
Friendly staff and maintenance crew. Like the layout. But putting 12 was a chore. We will be back for sure.
Not a long course but it can be challenging. Course conditions are decent but there are a few spots where the fairways have some issues.
Good value
Fun course
I have always loved playing this course. It has quite a few elevated tees and great scenery from those which makes it a fun course to play even though I don't play it well usually:)
Very fun course with a lot of challenging but manageable holes and well worth the value.
just getting to the course is a challenge. The road that leads to the course is about 18 feet wide with no shoulders, it seems somewhat dangerous. In beautiful area. Course seems stuffed in when there seems to be a lot of empty space around. Never heard 'fore' yelled so many times due to close quarters of holes. Fairways, rough and tee boxes in rough shape. Greens lightning, don't get above the holes. Staff friendly.
No starter courses with out a starter is bad because no one has any golf manners anymore bad crab grass they call fairways cow pasture an the road to it one lane dangerist I guess an garvey parking lot not my car joke didn't enjoy from start to finish
gravel parking lot ruined your dsy ?
