Hickory Sticks Golf Club

We had a tee time of 10:44 scheduled at this course. It was important that we start on time because of plans in the evening we all had. Well the course had over booked with a huge golf outing. There was not much organization going on. The outing got to jump ahead of us and we didn't get to hit our first ball until 11:45. Many of the other scheduled golfers were very frustrated with this overbooking and slow play by the outing. The staff were very nice about it and handed out 9 free holes of golf for our next visit. If they hadn't done that I probably wouldn't have gone back.

Awesome course, open and forgiving at times and then narrow for a challenge. Overall fun course to play.

Fairways were a little rough in a few locations, but generally course was in good shape.

I have played this course 2 or 3 times before and was extremely disappointed with the condition it was in. Tee boxes hadn't been cut in days. The fairways were 100% burnt out and full of dirt clumps and the greens were decent at best. Would not recommend playing this course anytime soon and probably won't ever head back. Has potential to
Be a nice course with its landscapes but it needs new ownership and some $$.

There are an abundance of hills which makes it somewhat challenging. But if you get off the tee well it is quite a bit easier.

Hurt by the rain. Poor drainage and lots of weeds growing up. Needs mowing. Good layout when not saturated

Hickory Sticks is a good value for the money. Moderately challenging course with some very fun holes to play.

The tee boxes in the past have been baked, but have not seen that problem in the past couple of years

I recommend this course for the intermediate type of player

Foursomes blasting radios in carts. To much yelling and screaming on course. No control over players. If you play this course be prepared for this. I will not return

The fairways are some of the worst I've ever seen, they're about 2-3 times longer than they should be with brown dead spots all over.. which I don't understand, given all the rain we've had recently. Greens weren't in great shape, either. Hilly course, not many even lies. I won't be back.

No rain for a week and bunkers all full of stagnant water. I know had lots of rain, but poor condition for no rain for last week. Slow play and people allowed on course with cut off jeans and sleeveless shirts. Cart we got had 12 empty beer cans and was from the previous day as we teed off little after 7 am. $25 course at best.

The fairways were so bad you couldn't even find your balls...granted we have had a lot of rain...won't be playing again

A co-worker and myself had a great afternoon at Hickory Sticks. The course was in good shape and somewhat challenging.

We were given a 3:08 tee time. The course was not crowded so we were taking our time. Two different times single players came up behind us and we let them play through. When we finished number 9 there was a huge group on the number 10 tee. For the first time we were told there was a league starting on 10 at 5:00. I believe they actually started early and as a result we had to skip around quite a bit to be able to get in all the holes on the back 9. This made for a unenjoyable finish to an otherwise pleasant experience.

Definitely off the beaten path, but worth the drive.
Beautiful views, challenging design, dramatic elevation changes. Play here as often as I can.

Love the design of course open enough to have bad shots and not worry about losing ball or hitting another golfer. Great day of golf

I paid for 18 on a Thursday evening. However, I could only get in 15. This is because they allowed payment for 18 knowing it was not possible. First, 6:44 pm tee time. Maybe I was just being hopeful. But then I had to wait and wait, for groups that were waiting on groups. I then had to go ahead three holes to get past all this. Probably should not have allowed the sale of 18.

Elevation changes make this a fun and but challenging course. Course was in great shape. Only 25 minutes from Florence. I will be back.

First time playing here. The staff and people around were as friendly as could be. The course is short but challenging enough due to the natural contours of the land and greens. Par 5 to start wasn't ideal but it's short enough for a confidence boost out of the gate. It was a 45 minuite drive but I would do it again in a heartbeat. Good people that welcome you will always beat a city course to me. I will be returning soon. Thanks again! Be careful of the narrow roads coming in though. The GPS doesn't realize my Tahoe is as big as the road.

The course was in very good shape, and the greens rolled very true. I would recommend the play of this course to anyone!
