Good for the money
BigBlue is in much better shape than Wildcat, but that’s not saying much. They don’t mow the greens nearly as often as they should, they were a little shaggy and slow, bunkers haven’t been raked in months. Several years ago it was one of the best places to play around, it’s cheaper and way nicer layout than all the city courses tho.
Course normally plays an excellent condition, but appears they have not cut the greens or the fairways .
Easy on the greens
Big Blue is a nice course. Challenging but. It stupid. Tees and greens were a little tore up. This isn’t the course’s fault. People seem to be getting lazier all the time. Fix your ball marks and pick up your dang feet! Super slow play this day. That is likely due to folks playing behind the tees of their skill level.
GolfNow and UCKY double charged me
The app charged me for the golf when I checked in and the gentlemen behind the counter refused to accept it and charged me a second time. Paid double for the round in the end as the charges both cleared in my credit card.
What the Putt!!
Just when you feel great about getting to the green in one or real close, wait until you chip on or putt the green! The sort fairway is made up with the lay of the greens!! I would like to play it again using better approach shots.
Huge Divots
Beautiful course, but unfortunately someone left HUGE unrepaired divots in every fairway. Staff needs to monitor players and remove them if they are not complying with common decency. If I could add pics, I would. They were creators!
The bar also needs two people working at all times. Very slow in there.
Greens in Horrific Shape
This is a great golf course but for $65 the greens are abysmal. High traffic with very little pin movement. Some were completely browned out. And with the new twilight rates it’s only going to get worse.
The same it alway is.
Love the course, both of them. HATE that they “the powers that be” schedule tee time every 5 mins. I completely understand the business mindset, but there have been times that I have played and looked back. There are a group teeing off, group in the fairway and a group on the green. It’s like an assembly line. That’s my rant. The courses condition for as wet is it been are good.
Great Course, Terrible Greens
Big Blue is supposed to be one of those "premiere" public courses in the Lexington Area and honest it just wasn't.
The layout is good. It is tough but if you are executing the shots you can have a lot of fun.
However, the greens were some of the worst greens I've played in Lexington. Every green was completely ruined by pitch marks, spike marks, bare spots. They will need to do some serious maintenance to the greens if they are going to keep hosting tournaments.
