Greens in Horrific Shape
This is a great golf course but for $65 the greens are abysmal. High traffic with very little pin movement. Some were completely browned out. And with the new twilight rates it’s only going to get worse.
The same it alway is.
Love the course, both of them. HATE that they “the powers that be” schedule tee time every 5 mins. I completely understand the business mindset, but there have been times that I have played and looked back. There are a group teeing off, group in the fairway and a group on the green. It’s like an assembly line. That’s my rant. The courses condition for as wet is it been are good.
Great Course, Terrible Greens
Big Blue is supposed to be one of those "premiere" public courses in the Lexington Area and honest it just wasn't.
The layout is good. It is tough but if you are executing the shots you can have a lot of fun.
However, the greens were some of the worst greens I've played in Lexington. Every green was completely ruined by pitch marks, spike marks, bare spots. They will need to do some serious maintenance to the greens if they are going to keep hosting tournaments.
Quality Course
Played on a hot summer day. 0830 tee time, and we were paired with a great group. Being a Saturday, course was busy, but that was to be expected. Back nine is tough, and today was no exception. Overall, a great experience.
SLOW greens
Every green has a layer of sand on them even though they were not aerated. It was difficult to judge the speed throughout the round. Other than the slow greens the course was in amazing condition.
Great layout
We were traveling through from Georgia to Illinois. We stopped in Kentucky to play golf & we were very pleased with our choice of your beautiful course! Keep up the good work.
Greens in terrible shape
The greens were like putting on the fairway. By 50% worst greens in the area. Need a mow and rolled. Cannot true putt at all in the condition they are currently.
Greens Not Mowed
The greens being extremely slow kinda ruined our day.
Greens not great on day of play
Greens were not great on day of play. Exceedingly slow. and bumpy. Fairways and rough were fine.
Awesome
Great course well maintained and challenging. I will definitely be back. Staff were helpful and courteous.
Beautiful course but was disappointed in the condition of the greens. They were very bumpy and lots of unrepaired ballparks.
Big Blue Course
Greens - too slow and beat up especially this early in the year. Public golfers fail to fix ball marks. I fixed 4 to 5 each hole but hardly made a difference.
Faster greens that are better taken care of and this is a
5 star course.
Very important to stay in the fairways, (obviously)
the roughs were tough and thick as they should be.
Tee boxes were nice and flat, with fairways that in were in mint condition.
Go Cats!
Thick rough
The rough was higher than usual causing to loose several balls just off the fairway. Too much dead grass in both the fairway and rough from the last time the course was mowed. Several greens were in poor shape due to ball marks not being repaired
Worth the drive
The course was in great condition. Green speeds were a little inconsistent. Loved the layout except for last few holes. I will definitely return
