Good course
Good course. New owner seems to be picking it up A LOT. It is much nicer than just last summer and can totally tell a difference. One of my favorite spots in Lexington
Beautiful drive to get there - beautiful drives on the course
Being a flatlander from Kansas, my friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our round today. The drive past the horse farms to get to the course through the rolling hills whetted our appetite for what to expect once on the course. We loved it. Beautiful surroundings, well-kept homes throughout the routing of the course, uneven lies on the hilly terrain with numerous elevation changes...all in all, I had a blast. There were a few fairways needing some grass but the vast majority of the fairways allowed us to play 'it as it lies'. The greens were all smooth, putted true, and a good pace. Had an ultra-slow twosome waived the groups they were holding us up to pass, the pace of play would have received a 5* rating in that category. We'll be back on our next visit to the area!
Nice couse
Course is very nice. Definitely a shorter course even with the back tees.
Getting better
The course is under new ownership and new management and has improved pretty significantly versus previous seasons. It’s still a fairly short course with a few oddities (no bunkers, tee boxes that are actually back to back with one another, etc), but it’s a fun place to play and provides a good challenge with lots of elevation changes and some tricky water hazard and tree locations.
Getting Better
We play here quite frequently and the new ownership and management have made some definite improvements to the grounds around the clubhouse giving it a classier look. However, the restaurant and bar are temporarily closed - no mixed drinks or sandwiches, other than hot dogs. The pro shop still sells drinks and snacks.
Some fairways are receiving some much needed sodding but the rest of the course is in great shape with some of the best greens in the area. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is the cart paths. While they've filled in a few holes with a concrete mixture over the winter there's still a long way to go to get all of them into passable shape.
The new management has also lowered the rates to attract more daytime business so give it a try some afternoon. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Fairways are still growing in
Course in good shape after a lot of rain
Fairways because they are Bermuda grass not fully grown in yet
Over priced course
I’ve play this course for years and it was always packed with customers and it progressed through the years so I thought and I played it this year for the first time and on a beautiful day it wasn’t even packed. It used to cost around 25 to 30 for the weekend witch for the course was a good price. It now cost 49.00 for play and the tees are still in bad shape and fairways still horrible. Because they installed a bar they increased the price. I will not return to this course because it’s overpriced and in horrible condition. I would rather play other expensive courses because I know their fairways and tees would be in great condition for the price they are charging
Great layout could use some TLC
Extremely fun and beautiful course. Fairways and greens could use a little attention but there is obvious effort. Other than trying not to break your back on some parts of the cart path it’s a great course for the money.
Deceivingly difficult
Not terribly long, but alot of elevation changes. Difficult at times to tell where to hit drives, blind tee shots while playing alone made it harder. Greens in great shape, fairways not so much. Would like to play it again now that I've seen it and have a better idea of how to make it work.
Needs alot of work and unorganized.
Got to the course at 3:42 on Sunday and checked in we were failed to be informed that a junior golf tournament was going on till we got to the 3rd hole tee box and here come 10 golf carts passing us by with parents , kids and spectators. We were then told to leave that hole go to 10 and play the back 9 which was packed with everyone trying to play back to back to each other. Didn't help they had a 16 year working the front desk that didn't seem to know what was going on and course marshall that said he didn't even work there. Long story short we paid for 18 played the back 9 and a couple on the front that we could play. Course was a muddy mess and in bad shape. I won't be back save your $30.
