Thoroughbred Golf Club at High Point

I waited every shot. No one ever came out to spend anyone up. Pace of play was horrible.

We’ve played here a few times and it just seems to be getting better. Clubhouse and bar/restaurant area are really nice. Course layout is challenging to all levels with good incorporation of the natural streams and rolling terrain. Very good shape for this time of year and they obviously have an eye to the future with the addition of new tee boxes. Nice long driving range and practice green right outside the clubhouse. If I had any criticisms it would be that the water at the numerous available stations could be a little colder and the yardage markers are not very clear for those of us that haven’t gone techie yet. I think you’ll enjoy it if you try it.

This course has a fantastic setup! It is not one of those courses where you repeat the same 4 or 5 holes over and over. Almost every hole is unique and offers a new challenge. The grass is really good condition (not perfect) and the greens are pretty consistent. Amazing bang for your buck at this course!

We hadn’t played here for several years but were hearing good things about it since Taylor Made Farms had bought it. There are obviously significant improvements that are taking place and under way. The layout is interesting and challenging but not very long. Greens were in good shape and fairways nicely mowed. The pro shop and bar area are very nice! Well worth the price. Looking forward to future rounds here.

I had an altercation with a player on the golf course who hit into us twice and when we got to the clubhouse, the kid's father had a gang of 10 guys including the golf course manager who verbally attacked me in the parking lot and threatened to physically beat me also. I'm 65 years old and in 50 years of playing golf, needless to say, had never had anything close to this happen to me. I guess the father and son lived on the course and he didn't like the fact that I scolded his son about hitting a drive over our heads out in the fairway, so, he gathered up his drinking buddies from the bar at the golf club and embarked on their abuse! The golf course pro should have intervened in the matter instead of participating! I would never recommend anyone going to play this low-class redneck so called golf course!

This is a good course with a varied layout. The staff is wonderful along with the "19th hole." However, pace of play can be an issue. I have played 18 holes in less than 3 hours and at other times, 5.5. I think if the green fees were increased, it would help with the pace of play.

Very nice course at a reasonable price. Greens are well maintained and true.

Only real concern is yardages appear to be off from score card. And the tee markers are a bit confusing. Would benefit from a yardage book and pros tips as some holes need strategic advice such as number 12! Overall worth the trip.

Recently purchased by the horse farm, this golf course is showing signs of improvement.

You won't recognize the new interior of the clubhouse. New bar and it's now a great place to host your group.

They have started to let the natural hazards grow out and the course is holding much more moisture so the fairways and greens are improving quickly.

Tee boxes need attention, greens in excellent shape,fairways in good shape. Will probably be back to play this course again. Over all an excellent course to play for the GolfNow hot deal price!

Major improvements since I last played this course over a year ago. The clubhouse and pro shop changes are amazing!! You have to see for yourself. Course fairways are getting better, numerous tee box additions and hole markers have all been improved.

The drive out was nice, pro shop is a trailer, Cart was new, tee boxes rough, fairways nice and rough not too high. The greens were wonderful. Great time.

we played this course on a sunday morning and they were fairly busy,. the pace moved good and the greens were the best I've seen this year anywhere.

Driving up to a huge black barn as the clubhouse was strange but ok, let's give it a chance. It was 38 degrees and besides the employees car, I was the only vehicle. Needless to say, pace of play wasn't phenomenal. The fairways were brown but the grass was still playable. But the greens were fantastic. I couldn't believe how lush and green they were. They played a little slow with slightly longer grass than normal and some water on the greens. But the nice thing was that they all played true from the first to the last. The course was a little short even from the tips. All in all, I really enjoyed the course and will definitely look forward to playing it again.

The course is under new ownership and management and the changes are fantastic. Switching up tee boxes to create different angles to the greens while challenging you with shot distances and control are a few changes. Our recent game had us asking ourselves many times on going for the green or laying up because of the new tee box locations. It's nice to have those thoughts while playing. Let's face it we all can't hit 300 yard drives everyday so it's nice to have to manage your game with 230-250 yard drives on Par 4's with 300 to the pin. Yes you still have the long holes but it's so nice to play with short irons in your hands because of decent first shots on the shorter holes.

I have played courses with PGA Pro Chris Boysel running the show and he brings a new welcomed feel to the courses he runs. We will be back soon!

High Point is a nice little track. Too bad the fairways are losing the battle to crabgrass. It was hard to tell what was and wasn't fairway on some holes.

It's a good value for the price but they really need to invest in some turf maintenance.

Course holes are arranged nicely to get you off to a good start. Watch out for number 2 par 3. It appears shorter than it is and you have a tendency to not use enough club. Fairways and T boxes were in good shape. A few of the green's are showing difficulty with the rainy season with patchy bare spots. The course offers good challenge of moderate level for golfers of novice to intermediate ability. We enjoyed our outing very much. The staff was very cordial.
