First Class Course
Very classy and very well maintained. The course is challenging but playable for all ability levels. It has a great driving range and the cleanest carts I have ever...yes ever...seen. Nice bar with a fantastic special almost always available. One of the most caring and considerate staffs I have been in around.
Really well kept course
I had played this course in the past and was not all that impressed. When I played yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to find how well the course was managed, and the staff was friendly as well.
Well Maintained
Quality course convenient to Lexington. The staff was friendly and expecting our arrival after our last second GolfNow booking.
Poor course maintenance
This would be a great course if the grass outside the fairways wasn't 4 inches tall. Spent more time trying to find my ball than I spent trying to enjoy myself. Will not be playing at this course again and would not recommend it to anyone unless u want to lose ur golf balls
great course to play
this course in incredibly challenging from the back tees! It is in great shape, the greens roll very nice...well taken care of!!
Fun course
Fun course, small greens, tight fairways, rolling hills, a good test of different shots. Cool shamrock shaped green side bunker on par 3 7th hole.
Great Clubhouse....Great Course
This course is well-maintained. It's not as noisy as some of the other local courses. Beautiful scenery. Fun holes to play. Awesome clubhouse. Newer golf carts.
Connemara
Got out mid-afternoon and was able to play in right at 3 hours. Course was in good shape. Greens were nice. Par 3's are challenging and playing from the black tees really makes a few holes much more difficult. Great customer service and very friendly staff. They do a great job.
Very nice course!
I enjoyed this course. Nice fairways, greens well groomed. Staff was very friendly.
A terrific Links course
A very well maintained course with some terrific challenges. It looks as if it were an easy course but it's deceptively difficult and great fun to play. It has a lovely clubhouse with a terrific pub.
Beautiful course with great scenery
Connemara is by far one of the nicest courses in Lexington that isn't over $50 to play. It is wide open and the course is in beautiful condition. There are only 2 things that bothered me; the greens are a bit small (but nice) and there aren't any yardage markers that are visible from far away (no blue, white, or red on the cart paths or stakes in the fairway). There are three green shamrocks on the cart paths that indicate 200, 150, and 100 yards. The people there are the nicest you'll find anywhere, especially the head pro Trey. Very friendly and accomadating. I would play this course a million times over!
Great Course
If you have not been to Connemara in a couple years, WOW what a change! The club house is Top Shelf and the course is now as nice as any in the BlueGrass and better than most!
Give them a try you will be glad you did.
Not your parents Connemara.
Since Dr. Lyons has taken over the course has been completely overhauled. Decent range, though not very long. The fairways and greens are in great condition. The rough is about 1 1/2 inches deep which makes for a challenge to find the ball if you miss the fairway, but also provides a good challenge as well. Tee boxes are in decent shape as well.
The cost/value of green fees is a little off ($38) but with golfnow's discounts and savings, there are always deals to be had.
If you find a discount I highly recommend giving Connemara a go.
Good for intermediate play
Very nice course wide open fairways and fast greens sand traps minimal very rough outside fairway will play again
Very Good Course.
This course was in great shape. Due to all of the rain in Kentucky, the rough was very thick as is the case with all courses.
Nice course.
This was my first outing this year and I was playing with new clubs so I didn't play very well, but the course was very nice. Got a great price with the Hot Deal and the staff were very friendly. Greens and fairway were excellent. The rough was very long and we lost at least three balls because we could not find them in the rough. Would have finished in under four hours but we caught up with a slow foursome at 14 that had several groups backed up by hole 18.
Shamrock bunker definately cool!
Par 71, adequate lenth from multiple tee boxes. The course is quite open, but the rough definately penalizes an errant tee shot. Moderate elevation changes from tee to green provides for a change to most courses in the area. The greens were firm but receptive. Moderate speed but rolled smoothe.
Only one complaint
I would pay money to play this course again. However, the fairways were too long. Much greater in length than any other course I've played this year.
course has blind shots a plenty
Rough was so high you had to walk directly over it to see it. Mamy holes had blind shots so ball hunting was difficult at best. Greens need attention saw ant hills on many greens.
cannot recommend course if conditions remain the same
Good course at a great value
Very good link course at a great value. Renovated club house looks awesome.
