nice course
First time playing the course. Friendly staff. The course overall was not extemely difficult. A couple of holes were blind shots; will be asier next time. Will definitely play again.
Connemara
Course was in good shape for the most part. The greens were in bad shape though. Overall a good looking, fun course. I'll be back.
great course
played in 2hrs 45mins fairways where great some tees under new construction greens where great
Lexington Gem
Love Connemara golf course! New changes to #1 and #15 make it more interesting than ever. Great facility, beautiful course, and well worth the cost to play.
Trouble free course
Nice , fun course to play. Tee boxes in bad repair, but overall a good course to play. I will play it again.
Disappointing course
For the last 3 years we usually play this course 2 times a year on weekends (group from out of town). In the past the pro shop staff guy was GREAT and always made us feel welcome that we chose this course and got us off to a great start but this year from the time we checked in was a different story. The guy (Lanny?) behind the counter seemed like he was lost trying to check in everyone and acted like he was doing us a favor letting us play there. The course was in a state of repair from the tee boxes to the greens. The back nine was again boring - wish they would have taken the money to move tee boxes to make the back and forth holes on the back nine more interesting. Probably be looking for a different course to play on future trips.
Great Customer Service.
Great weather, the course in good shape, good times and most impressive was the hospitality by the staff at Connemara. From the front desk to the grill all made the effort to make my golf experience an enjoyble one.
Connomara. Not so hot a deal
I was giving this course a second chance after being disappointed a year ago Greens and tees were generally bad. Pro shop guy and course Marshall were welcoming and friendly. Dining/bar staff were indifferent. (Like they were doing ME a favored selling me something. ). Glad I got this at a hot-deal price. Won't go back
much improved
really like what they have done at this course! enjoyed it
Much improved course
I have played in past and was average course. They have put a lot of work on the course with flowers, shrubs and new tee boxes. Carts are new and clean. The fairways are great and greens are good. Still, there is a group of holes on back nine a little boring because all seem about the same. Overall very pleased and now will be my number one course if they continue good deals on Golf Now.
AMAZING STAFF, COURSE, & FOOD!!!!! WOW!!!!!!
I went to Connemara because I saw they lead Central Kentucky in reviews on GolfNow. I usually play in the Frankfort area but I thought I would venture out and see some other courses. I walked in just before Noon last Sunday (June 1st) & I was immediately met at the course by the one the staff members. He said hello to me, while he held the door open for me. He asked how I was doing today and seemed to take a legitimate interest in my well-being. (My expectations were exceeded within the first 30 secs of my arrival). I showed up at an inopportune time because the course was so busy but I was paired up with a twosome and was on the first tee box within 15 minutes of getting to the course. Because the staff paired me up with another group, pace of play was EXCEPTIONAL! The course was completely packed and we managed to play 18 holes with carts in 4 hours and 10 minutes! THAT WAS AMAZING! I am definitely not used to that kind of efficiency. We even stopped at the turn to get a couple of beverages (which were phenomenal as well)! I shot an 86 from the white tees and that is a few strokes better than I normally play. I have a USGA handicap of 14.7. The fairways were some of the best I have ever seen, in the state of Kentucky and the greens were rolling PURE! There are a few spots on 2 or 3 greens that I'm sure is left from the remnants of the ridiculous winter we had but it was extremely minor. They also had several maintenance crew members working on their new tee boxes. I was shocked that they had so many maintenance crew members working on Sunday, but I loved seeing them out there! They definitely take pride in their course! The two gentlemen and I ate lunch after our round and the food was INCREDIBLE! I thought I was at a high-end, private club, with the exception of the prices. I think the most expensive item on their menu was $7.99! The portions were more than enough! Needless to say, in my 18 holes, I spoke to probably 10-12 employees at Connemara and I love that! I will definitely be back and I am bring my friends with me. I LOVE THIS COURSE!
Glad I didn't pay full price
Course setup was nice and challenging. Some tee boxes were under repair which when they are done will make the course better. My biggest problem was with the conditions of the greens. Most were in serious need of repair. The greens were pretty bumpy which made putting and reading the green harder than what it should have been.
The rough is TERRIBLE
First time to play Conemara in a long time. The layout and condition of the rough and tee boxes were very poor. Greens were in nice shape. Although the course is wide open, if you miss the fairway you can't find your ball because the rough is so thick. You can also not hit out of it. With the amount of +25 handicap players at this course and condition of the rough, makes the pace of play unbearable. We quit after 15 holes because we waited every shot. I will not play here again.
FRIENDLY staff, DELICIOUS food, and BEAUTIFUL course conditions A+++ Connemara!
When we arrived to Connemara Golf Course for our first time on Monday, May 5th we were greeted by a cheerful fellow behind the front desk. This being our first time to Connemara, he took the time to reach out to us and tell us about the facility. He was very knowledgeable not only about the course but the restaurant as well. He walked us back to the cart staging area and made us feel right at home. The rough was a little thick but manageable. The fairways were smooth and consistent and the GREENS were rolling true and smooth. A+ on course conditions. The menu they have in the Irish themed pub is outstanding, I would recommend the Connemara Club! We look forward to our next visit to Connemara.
Nice course
Fairways was nice, pace of play was awesome. A lot of the greens was a little ruff.
3" GRASS
My buddy and I tried to shoot 18 yesterday, but by the 16th hole we finally quit. We played some of our best golf ever, but the grass was so high we lost about 15 balls between the two of us. We spent a ridiculous amount of time searching for our balls "in bounds". You could not see the ball unless you were on top of it or it was on the green. I've never been so frustrated nor have I ever quit early unless it was weather related. Please fix the conditions before I give it another shot.
This course was well worth the money
Connemara was absolutely gorgeous and fun to play.
Seen better days
In the past I have enjoyed coming out to Connemara but it is apparent that the course is needing some love. Tee boxes are some of the worst I've seen. Fix it and I'll be back.
Current conditions still plagued from winter
Always love this course. I played on 4/2/14. Greens and tee boxes are still a bit atrocious at the time being with the cold weather just passing. I have faith that the staff will correct this soon. They are also creating new tee boxes at the moment as well. Once spring comes into full swing and I get to play it again, I have no doubt that the course will be in pristine condition.
