Horrible! Close the Course.
Greens are unplayable! When you call to reserve a tee time, the fair thing would be to tell about the issues with the greens. No place on any green could you hit a chip shot or putt to the hole without " kid playground sand" filling the bare spots in your way to the hole. Course should be closed until they get control of the issue. Still charging $42 to play is a joke.
Very Rough
Was looking forward to playing here as it's been a few years. They had pretty much lost all of their greens and they were super slow. The fairways weren't really much lower than rough height. Hopefully it was just a bad weather issue and they can get this course back in shape next year. Played it for $25 which all in all is not bad but could have paid $2 extra and played a metro parks course in Louisville in better shape. I may try again next year.
In Much Better Shape
Second time on this track, first time was pretty ragged. Fairways and greens are in excellent shape right now, so compliments to the maintenance crew. Rough is probably intentionally long, but deep enough you'll lose balls that should be in plain sight. Overall, with a GolfNow deal, price of the better playing deals in the area at the moment.
I liked the layout
It is a nice course with some challenging and picturesque holes. I would play it again.
Great course, rude staff
Booked my tee time as a single w Golf Now. Rate was quoted at $32. Paid $4 in fees w Golf Now and was told I would pay $30 at the course. When I arrived, I was told it was $39 and that I wasn't allowed to walk as a single because they were "covered up." They showed me the tee sheet and the next closest group to me (again as a single and the first player on the course) was an hour an a half later. In fact, said group was teeing off as I made the turn. Overall, the pro shop staff made it seem as though I was bothering them by wanting to come play golf.
Course was in great shape but I won't be back bc they don't allow walkers.
Shelbville Country Club
Shelbyville Country Club is a great course. The Clubhouse had great prices on refreshments, food, and beer. The course itself was quite challenging with many blind hills, and lots of water. Ball placement was key on several holes. The Kentucky Bluegrass fairways stay green year round and are really nice to hit off. Can't wait to get back and improve my score here!
Golf
The best course most friendly people ever met fairways excellent, greens unbelievable remember this was Dec 21,five star as far as I am cocerned would be a member if didn't like playing different courses.. Again friendless people ever and staff.
Super Course
Course is in great shape. Fairways like a carpet. Staff made me feel welcome. Senior tees very fair. Course is as good as some resort courses I have played.
Best course in area
Ive played 10+ different courses in the louisville area using golf now. This one so far is #1. First time playing the course, staff explained how to get around some tricky areas of the course. Good mix of sand and water. Fairways were in glorious shape. Greens were receptive but fast. Didnt happen to grab any food or anything so cant speak to that. The golf now location isnt correct so make sure you enter it into maps. Bomb course. Cant say enough good about it.
A layout that takes some getting used to.
Overall a nice course in terms of condition but it has some awkward holes. Don't get me wrong, a friend and I had fun as we scrambled it in +1, I just found a few holes awkward.
Do yourself a favor...
...and come play this hidden gem of a golf course. 5 stars all the way. Was a member here 25 years ago and it was just as I remember. Very challenging. Course in great shape. Greens are AWESOME. Teaching my grandson to play golf. Played twilight $32. Grandson $10. We had the entire course to ourselves. Doesn't get any better than this.
Tony
Course was pretty good shape for early start of season . This is very well kept up and very challenging .
wet time of year
Just finished raining three hours before I played. Considering that, the course was very challenging. $25 on Sunday was a fair deal. Temp 51° and foggy - cart path only which is tipical this time of year at every course.
nice course. need a little tlc
nice course but need some rain. some fairways were burned up
Terrible condition
For being Country Club this course was the worst course I have ever played on in this area. The only thing good about it was the greens. And even there the hole was poorly put in. I will never go there again, even if I got a free pass. It was a waste of my time and money.
Solid course, but fairways need time
We played this course for around $30 and had a great time. The place was vacant, save for a few gentlemen eating and drinking in the pro shop and one loner who played behind us for a few holes before playing through. The rough areas and greens were spectacular and it was evident they had been well maintained. The rain we had experienced in the week leading up to made for a little soggy conditions in the morning, but the back nine seemed to be drying as we made it there. The carts were clean and fully gassed and the staff was nice and inviting. An attendant brought our cart to our car as we unloaded and was there to receive it after we finished. The only downside was the Bermuda fairways that had not come in yet. This made for a tough scoring round, but we had fun regardless. Overall, we had a great experience.
Tight fairways
I was a little too free with all the stars but for the Golfnow special I got, it was truly a great deal...
I would like to had seen a prettier course and with a bit of maintenance, I'm sure this course could be stunningly gorgeous. Makes me wonder if there might be some financial issues or if it's just a lack of good management? I don't know. But I did enjoy this course, a lot. And for the Golfnow discount, it was a great deal.
Nice course but ragged in spots
Played about my worst round of the summer here but that wasn't the course's fault. I've played it a couple of times prior to this and it's a good layout. Spotty fairways and some worse than spotty. On 16 my playing partner hit his tee shot in the middle of the fairway and we couldn't find it because of the massive clumps of weeds which were about 10 inches tall. Mostly it's good though. #9 green had some problems but the rest were fine. Chalk it up to the tough winter we had.
