Clover is the issue
This was our second time playing this course. The first time we played was in March and we had a great time. This time we played in the middle of May and the clover was so thick that we lost over 10 golf balls between the two of us. It was so frustrating. I even played with a red ball. Now if you are a great golfer and hit it in the fairway every time you have nothing to worry about. We were the first ones out so that made it nice because we are fast players so we finished in 2.5 hours.
Fun course
Course was freshly mowed and manicured. Greens were being mowed early that morning. All greens were pretty hard. Overall was satisfied with the condition and would definitely play again.
Great first experience
We got a great deal on a Sunday morning tee time and were pleasantly surprised by this course. It’s wide open with no sand bunkers and a few water hazards. The ladies tees are positioned well but some of the holes are very close together so if it’s crowded, you may have people hitting into you. My favorite hole is #19 where I made an eagle.
We will definitely be back!
Unexpected find
Course was well taken care of: fairways and greens were in immaculate shape. All of the bu Kees have been grasses over, but this did not take away from the experience. Southwind has to be on some of the hilliest terrain around and has numerous scenic holes.
