Swan Point Yacht & Country Club
About
Situated along the shores of the Potomac River in southern Maryland, Swan Point Country Club has been ranked as one of the top 10 golf courses in the state. Golfers who enjoy playing in the Carolinas will feel right at home on this course. Water or marshland comes into play on 12 holes and there is an abundance of pine trees. The course is also home to a variety of wildlife including osprey, bald eagles, and deer. In addition to the water, strategically placed bunkers add another challenging element to the golf course. The par-5 fourth hole is considered the signature, mostly due to the challenging island green. Proper club selection is key in order to maneuver past the lake that runs along the entire left side of the fairway. The hole is especially hard on windy days.

You must play this course
Great conditions, staff friendly and the fairways are in excellent conditions. I would recommend this course to a friend. The view is breath taking.
This is a great layout.
I haven't played this course in 8 years. When I played this course years ago it was the best manicured course I had ever played - the fairways were like carpet and the rough was like foam rubber. Course has deteriorated but still a great layout and great value.
Terrible Fairways and Greens
The course was in need of some serious attention. Every tee shot plugged, greens bumpy and slow.
I have played here before and it was completely different in a good way.
Kinda scratching my head right now...
GREAT COURSE
BEAUTIFUL COURSE, VERY CHALLENGING COURSE FOR A NOVICE, VERY SOGGY IN COLD CONDITIONS, I CAN'T WAIT TO PLAY IT IN SUMMER WHEN THE TRUE BEAUTY OF THE COURSE WILL SHOW
Tender fairways, hard aerated greens cart path only.
Swan Point is most always a pleasureable course to play. A lot of rain and cool weather have kept the course dormant and damp. Time and warm weather will rectify this.
In great shape for February
We were surprised the course was even open it was so cold when we started our round. But it was well worth the chill factor. Great views and a variety of hole layouts made this a fun course. We will most certainly play here again.
A great course for a Winter round of golf
When I booked I heard the weather would be in the high 40's, but when I arrived it was still hovering around 36 degrees. since there were few folks willing to play in that temperature, the pace of play was great, finishing 18 in under 4 hours. The course was wet, mostly on the fairway edges and in the rough, but the lies were good and the shots were true off the turf. The greens were in excellent condition and putted straight, no bumps or other issues. The price for a Sunday round was excellent as was the hospitality in the Pro Shop and Clubhouse. I shot a 90, which is within my handicap, and should have shot better (lost six balls to cold hands!). The last few holes bring a lot of water and sand into play around the greens, so if you get tired mid-round and your shots tend to stray, bring something to pick up your game. I can't wait to play in better weather.
Good course even without the deal
Have played here quite often in the past when i worked not to far away. Had the course all to myself pretty much and loved it. Great track on a somewhat mild day on the last day of the year. Couple of spots on greens but it is winter, and not in an area to affect direct play. I'd play here every day if i could get the deal. Even in season it's reasonable and a nice track.
Nice layout.
On the Potomac and Cuckolds creek. A challenginging course from the Blue tees. The white are a bit short, i.e. less than 6000 yards. Have to be a good ball striker or you can get into a bunch of trouble. Very scenic.
Couse layout is outstanding
Course makes you feel like you are in Myrtle Beach playing golf
Beautiful course
Great variety of holes. The holes near the river are spectacular! There a couple of greens that are a little rough but overall the course is in excellent condition.
Water everywhere
Good layout. Tight and lots of opportunities for shotmaking. Negatives include many forced carries and blind shots but there are multiple tees. Friendly staff is a plus.
The was in great shape and the staff was very friendly.I think we all got our money worth.
The course was great shape and I would refer the course to frinds..
this course has very good condition overall
this course is very good condition and fairway is great and also along the water this course is challenging
Good Value Course
Took advantage of the "All-You-Can-Play" with lunch deal for $59. Overall the course was in very good shape, some interesting holes, and some great views of the Potomac River. A few of the greens needed work, but overall the condition of the course was excellent. Was able to play 36 holes in about 7 hours, which was great.
Excellent course and restaurant is Great!
Close to me and an excellent value through Golf now
Good experience IF you pick the right set of tees
The course was in good condition and the pace of play made the round enjoyable. From the longer tees, some of the carries can be unmanageable. There is not a lot of roll on this course, so we moved up one set of tees and had no problems.
ABOVE YOUR AVERAGE COURSE
THE STAFF WAS SUPER. VERY FRIENDLY,MADE YOU FEEL WELCOME AND APPRECIATED. COURSE IS TOUGH,BUT FUN. ONLY THING WE NOTICED,WHICH WAS NOT A REAL ISSUE, WERE THE HUGE YELLOW JACKETS BURROWED IN MOST GREENS. BUT THAT'S UNDERSTANDABLE IN A WETLAND ENVIRONMENT. WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK!
