Swan Point Yacht & Country Club
About
Situated along the shores of the Potomac River in southern Maryland, Swan Point Country Club has been ranked as one of the top 10 golf courses in the state. Golfers who enjoy playing in the Carolinas will feel right at home on this course. Water or marshland comes into play on 12 holes and there is an abundance of pine trees. The course is also home to a variety of wildlife including osprey, bald eagles, and deer. In addition to the water, strategically placed bunkers add another challenging element to the golf course. The par-5 fourth hole is considered the signature, mostly due to the challenging island green. Proper club selection is key in order to maneuver past the lake that runs along the entire left side of the fairway. The hole is especially hard on windy days.

Swan Point
Overall course was in good shape- fairways were nice but greens were a little beat up.
Good value overall at $54
Golfing the Swan
Always liked this course it offers different shots and playability is great. It was finally dry making the experience really nice.
Do not believe everything you read in review -_-
Played at Augustine many times while back [15 years ago] and back then, it was beautiful and amazing course, in fact it was in top 100 !! I paid $80-$85 and was so worth it! After the recession the course went down hills and I playes there less and less and I stop going there by 2017 since it was just terrible even after new management took over. It got better but still not worth $60~$80!!
Fast forward, tbis week, September 2024.
Saw the review few days ago amd few reviews say amazing,....well, the tee boxes and fairways is nice, NOT AMAZINGLY but better than average [grasses too tall in fairwaays not full ] However, greens were were under par condition. Bit of crab grasses and burnt marks. I am glad at least I paid only $42 in Hot Deal , not $50-$65.
In all honesty, the greens got hit by the heats and see few crab graasses and bald spots and they tried to punch the greens.
It is getting better that I can see but One Reviewer said It is 100% back and few reviewers says amazing, and that was why came back....
I do hope the condition gets really better soon.
I might try again next year when fairways are full with good grasses and greens recovered.
If you paying in that 40 range, go there and have fun!
Unacceptable Greens condition
The greens were horrible. Potential customers should be made aware prior to reserving a tee time. The layout of the course is great. The potential is there for a very good golf course but the condition of the greens ruined it. For the price there are plenty of much better options.
Fuzzy Greens
The front nine had a fungus on every green. The back was a little better. I like the course and its layout but the greens have to be fixed
Too bad
Love this course. But they have lost their greens.
Terrible greens
The greens are in terrible condition. I usually only give positive reviews because I know all business is difficult. I was excited to play here because it does feel different than a traditional MD course. The layout is nice. The scenery is very good. The fairways were also good. My two negatives were the completely lost greens and the beverage cart person was not attentive and came across as bothered. Because of that I only bought from her once at hole 1 and fortunately the small turn shack had better service.
Sorry I would not pay even $20 to play there based on the greens.
Course layout was fun!
Course layout was great, greens need some help but very playable. Fun day!
Odd business model
The course is a good one. It’s very odd how the beer is in the pro shop and ice in the bar. POS system is slow…too slow…makes checking in long. Course closes at 6pm…a bit odd considering it’s dark at 8pm. Lose money as we were going to play another 9. Cash only on the beverage cart and the snack shop…there are so many options for mobile credit/debit service. They are far away from much of anything. To maximize their profits it would make sense to finish the the loop with these things. It’s probably the best track in Southern Maryland. Missing these things and the distance is what we don’t go as often as we would.
Great Course
Hard to find a course any more beautiful than Swan Point. Fairways and bunkers are in treat condition. Majority of greens were in great shape but a few had some worn areas near the edges.
Can’t beat it for the price!
He's saying Augustine, wrong golf course
