Clustered Spires Golf Course

Course was in great condition. Bunkers needed to be raked due to the excessive rain.

I really enjoyed this golf course. Played on a damp wet day and there was very little traffic on the course. Good test from the black tees. The rough was up because on the rain so you better hit it straight and long. Greens were in fantastic shape and very consistent. I would play here again for sure !!!

Nice course with rolling hills and wide fairways. Kept in better than average condition. Greens and fairways are well mowed.

Not extremely difficult of a course but very enjoyable to play.

We found this course on GolfNow - we loved playing here! the layout is incredible, condition was great (except for he aerated greens, but that's every course this time of year...). We will definitely return!

I played this course on a weekday and got a great rate on Golf Now. I was surprised at how nice the course was. The layout was playable, with challenging holes and the greens were rolling nicely. The course overall was in excellent condition. I plan to return and play it again soon. I highly recommend this course.

Otherwise a fairly benign course. No carries. Wide gentle fairways on most of the holes, mostly straight holes altogether, not much waste or sand. A really just kind of "vanilla" course. Just almost too easy on the front nine but tightening-up nicely on the back. Still never really gets "hard". The greens were on the borderline of sucking because the grass was too long and shaggy.

I really have a hard time believing that this is a 130 slope course. Even slightly off my game I was still flirting with 90 from the back tees and ended with a 93. Easily my lowest score this year. Blue Ridge Shadows is a 134 course, this course is nowhere near as hard as Blue Ridge Shadows.

It is an ok round ignoring the planes, and I liked the last 5 holes or so but otherwise it was a fairly boring, easy course. But in decent shape, with a gentle layout, and as such really a beginner to intermediate course. Sorry, Maryland National is about a half-hour up I-70 and is just much better, same with Whiskey Creek maybe 10 miles to the southeast. Both priced about the same. I could not recommend those courses to beginners, certainly I would recommend Clustered Spires instead.

And then there are the planes.

I booked the round on golfnow.com for Veteran's Day for a 4 some (w/ a Veteran) for $42. Went to check-in only to have the PRO tell me that the round price that I booked on golfnow.com was not going to be accepted today as it was a holiday and that the new rate was $59. That was not acceptable to me and only after arguing with the PRO for about 5 minutes in front of other customers and threatening to leave did he agree to honor the pre-negotiated rate. The rest of the staff (cart guys and starter) and facilities were great. The food after the round was OK. Just really started off bad and put a bad taste in my mouth for future rounds here.

This course is always in either good or great condition. It is very playable with some challenging holes. The price is always reasonable. I highly recommend this course.

Not only was the course in great shape, it was a beautiful course. Just enough tough rough and water to make it challenging enough.

I treated my brother, Dad, and Father In Law to a foursome and it was worth every penny. They (and I) absolutely loved it. It was challenging, but afforded great opportunities for scoring (my ideal course). As soon as we were done, they were asking when we were coming back. We drove in from Leesburg, VA and the commute was a breeze, even with holiday traffic. I recommend this course very highly.

Course in great condition and fun to play. Carts a little erratic but adequate.

Well kept municipal course. Nice fairways & greens. Not great for socializing before and after as they seem uninterested in the non-golfing part of the experience.

Greens were excellent. Played 18 in 3 hours 30 minutes. 8:15 tee time.

This is my local course it can get backed up on Saturday and Sunday mornings but when my son and I played it was wide open . Got in about 22 holes before it started getting too dark. Staff was very freindly and helpful course was in great shape.

Clustered Spires is an above average MUNI. Fairways and tees in fine shape. Greens: fast and challenging.
Pretty open and inviting. Some very nice views and interesting holes. #16- 220 yd par 3.. you will likely be short.

I play this course often and this happened to be the perfect storm for me. I was able to play the first 13 holes by myself at a great pace. With this I felt no one would believe the game I was having. I paired up on the back nine and my game continued to be good to me. I was able to finish with a solid 80.

I like the layout and condition of this GC. Staffs are friendly. It was not crowded when we played so we could finish a round in 3.5 hrs.
