Enterprise Golf Course

We play Enterprise a LOT. Great course. Nice staff. Short game practice area is very nice. A couple of years ago they shut the course down for the entire summer: redid the fairways, laser-leveled the tee boxes. The work really paid off.

Greens are arerated. Nothing can be done right now. Putts are just way slower than normal .

For a DC area public course, Enterprise has several things going for it. The first is the price. Very reasonable compared to courses in the DMV area. The second are the greens. While some pins were placed far too close to the fringe or on a swale, the greens rolled true, had good size, and had some challenging but fair breaks and speed. Lastly, in the positive category, is the staff attentiveness. They were very prompt and efficient.

On the negative side, the layout leaves much to be desired. On at least 1/3rd of holes off the tee (using blue), a driver is not advisable/ possible due to hard turns/ doglegs 180-220 yards from the tee box. On the remaining 2/3rds, most set up for a player with a fade and work against someone with a draw, like me. This was annoying, as I found myself hitting long irons into greens on holes with lengths that would normally have me hitting 8-PW on approach. The only other negative is how close several holes are to each other at the tee boxes and greens. You can stand in one spot on the course and be within 100yds of at least 5 holes' tee boxes and greens. That makes for noise challenges, but not a huge deal.

I was glad to find Enterprise and hope to return.
