Haven't Played Challedon in a While...
I used to play Challedon several times a year, but haven't been there since the pandemic. I had seen some comments about "an infestation of ground bees on the greens" and that it was recently aerated after I booked the tee time. However I have to say the course was in good condition. The tee boxes were a little shaggy, but nothing too bad, and there were little stones/rocks in some of the bunkers but easily removed (which USGA Rules now allow). The fairways were green and in good condition. There was only one hole on the front 9 which showed a little "wear and tear." The aeration was not a big problem and we only saw ground bees on three greens (One of the workers came out on #2 green while we were there to try to kill them...with a racket, no less!) Pace of play was excellent--we were done in a little less than 4 hours. All in all, I think some of the feedback is unfounded. Challedon is in great condition and I will definitely play again.
Weekend Warriors
Like the course. Pace of play was really bad. When spoke with Marshall was rude and said suck it up it’s the Weekend Warriors. Course is in good condition but Tees could be shaved more. Friendly staff otherwise. Won’t let one Marshall’s attitude stop me from coming here.

Challedon on a very hot day
Course was in great shape and always enjoy playing there. Typically play there on weekdays at a lower rate so for $80 on a Saturday wasn’t too bad. Will definitely be back for another round.

Played round today in 3. 1/2 hours as a 4some. Overall course is in great shape. Staff was friendly .will go again.

Poorly managed
No rangers to keep pace moving. Make no attempt to create foursomes so you have a mishmash of groups all over the course. They continously send groups off at 10 when the have a league playing. Sell a membership with unlimites weekday play and don't mention that Friday's are unavailable as they book out with outings throughout the season. Polite and very apologetic if you address the issues but don't take any corrective actions. Not worth the aggrevatoon if you are looking for a relaxing round.

Poor management
Horribly managed, confusion with starter as he is working cart inventory as well as other things. No rangers or beverage cart. They send groups off on 10 when leagues are going off the front. Very apologetic when you complain, but don't correct the problem. Too many professionally run couses located nearby to pay premium dollars for sub standard services.

Water?
Course was dry, no sand in most traps. Greens have not been maintained. Change hole locations at least once a year! Lol. So many spike marks and un repaired divots. Did what we could. Grass is I. Terrible shape. Tee boxes are like hitting out of rough with uphill, downhill and side hill boxes. Worse shape I’ve seen a course in awhile. And all this for 80 bucks! Garbage! They do have pretty good Crabcakes. 30 for one. Extremely disappointed. Won’t be back anytime soon.
