Links at Challedon

I play here at least twice a month and Challedon GC has always friendly staff and the course conditions are very well maintained. Highly recommended for any golf enthusiasts.

First, I like the layout of Links of Challendon. My reservation was for 02/17. I called Challedon on 02/16 to confirm that the course will be open the next day because we recently had some snow in the area. The gentleman at the pro shop said "doubt it, if we do some of the holes will not be opened because we still have snow on the ground." I asked what should I do with the reservation scheduled for the next day and he recommended to cancel so he did. On 02/17, it was a warm day and I checked my TeeOff account and the reservation was still there. I called the golf course and they said the course is fully opened. I then asked about my original tee time that was previously cancelled and it was gone. I then had a (3) way call with Chris (golf pro at Challendon) and TeeOff because I wanted a credit for the pre-paid tee time especially if Challendon had already sold my original tee time to someone else and both TeeOff and Challendon would not issue me a credit. I am not even asking for a refund, simply a credit and they would not do it. The worst part is I took the day off to play and Challendon did NOT lose out on the tee time as they already sold it to someone else. Extremely frustrating.

Played a round here last week. Course was in great shape, staff were extremely friendly and food was phenomenal. You must try the crab cakes after your round!!

Been playing Challedon off and on for years. Never disappoints, a fair mix of everything I’m looking for out of a MD golf course.

Took us almost 6 hours to play 18. Sometimes 4 groups on one hole. No ranger in sight. Tried calling club house multiple times and no answer. Course is not worth $90. Way over priced. Multiple tee boxes closed. Have to hit off a tee box that was cut into the rough on multiple holes.

I’ve played at Challedon several times this year. The course is maintained in excellent condition, however players should be mindful about fixing their ball marks on the greens and raking the sand traps after shots to be courteous to those following. The staff at Challedon (pro shop, starters, maintenance, and Grille employees) are excellent and very efficient and courteous. The food in the Grille is the best anywhere in Carroll County, especially the crab cakes! The Grille is a great place for lunch or dinner even if you don’t play golf. Practice facilities are abundant with a putting green, sand and chipping green, range stalls with mats or a nice grass hitting area for members. You can’t go wrong with a round at Challedon!
