About
Eastmoreland Golf Course was laid out in 1917 by National Amateur Champion, H. Chandlar Egan. Today, Eastmoreland is ranked by Golf Digest among the top public courses in the country. Eastmoreland is as beautiful as it is challenging, bordered in part by Portland’s Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake. The environment provides a home for thousands of birds including great blue herons, mallards, wood ducks and more. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful year round and the natural hazards such as ravines, streams and lakes require the best from any golfer.

COURSE CONDITION IS RELATIVE DRY, CONSIDERING THE RECORD RAIN THIS SEASON. THE LAYOUT IS SOMEWHAT CHALLENGE IF TEE OFF AT BLUE TEE. Will COME BACK AGAIN.
In the city golf
Hard to believe such a gem of a course is right in the middle of neighborhoods! Yes, there were very wet places but for the amount of rain we have received it was tolerable. The greens were in great shape, even fast as the day progressed. I will be back!
Next Level Slow
Five and a half hours, so enough about that.
The greens were in incredible shape, fast and rolled true. Rough was a little long, that made for difficulty finding the ball if I strayed off the fairway. In general, this is a great course— but pace of play kills any momentum you can build off of a good hole.
Taking a gamble on the weather
Took a chance and went out to play a few holes and found a course in much better condition than than expected. Not one ball plugged, yes some muddy spots but overall just great. Greens looked and putting very nicely.
Too much goose droppings.
A lot of bird droppings. The greens were in great shape tho.
Decent for the money
The course was extremely wet and didn’t drain well. Greens were too bumpy and slow. Decent price due to golf now, but would never pay the normal greens fees for the quality the course provides.

A Portland Muni course with great potential but needs some investment and TLC. The layout is great. One of the features of the course is the narrow fairways resulting from the abundance of trees; but some strategic pruning and removal would improve the playability of the course. As weather warms the fairways will improve. As of this writing grass was a bit thin and fairways were soft. As a result of the water on the back nine there is an abundance of geese that cause havoc to the fairways, blowing away the geese droppings would be a help. The clubhouse could also benefit from some needed updating/remodeling.
This could be a Portland gem, hopefully the city will realize its potential and make the needed improvements.
Beautiful course but range marshal needs to be more proactive
Beautiful course but range marshal needs to be more proactive. There were several people ahead of us that were so slow that we had a wait 5 to 10 minutes for them to get done. Also please open up the golf shop. And end wearing masks.
