Eastmoreland Golf Course
About
Eastmoreland Golf Course was laid out in 1917 by National Amateur Champion, H. Chandlar Egan. Today, Eastmoreland is ranked by Golf Digest among the top public courses in the country. Eastmoreland is as beautiful as it is challenging, bordered in part by Portland’s Rhododendron Gardens and Crystal Springs Lake. The environment provides a home for thousands of birds including great blue herons, mallards, wood ducks and more. The tree-lined fairways are beautiful year round and the natural hazards such as ravines, streams and lakes require the best from any golfer.

Beautiful course but range marshal needs to be more proactive
Beautiful course but range marshal needs to be more proactive. There were several people ahead of us that were so slow that we had a wait 5 to 10 minutes for them to get done. Also please open up the golf shop. And end wearing masks.
Eastmoreland
Closest course to me and I love it. Easily one of the best values within 45 minutes of the city.
EM
Course in great shape considering rainfall total last two weeks. Wash hose was good stroke.
A little sloppy
Considering the weather, the course was mushy in a lot of areas but was still walkable
Greens rolling great for this time of year
Course is actually in much better shape than it was after the triple digit weather we had this summer. Obviously this time of year there’s some wet spots but all in all it played great. There was nobody out there played in three hours for 18 holes with only a sprinkle.
Just Something About This Course…
I’ve played here numerous times and while “historic” there’s just something increasingly unattractive about EM, feeling more like a “practice grounds” than anything else. Being inserted into public space, abutting industrial infrastructure, and the notorious proximity to pedestrians and homeless have not helped the appeal of this course. While unfortunately these factors are out of the control of the course itself, it detracts that much more when the course conditions and amenities are in poor shape. The fairways were in the worst condition I’ve seen since playing over the last two years. An excellent drive would find itself in hard slick mud surrounded by clover. I understand this course is susceptible to rain, but I’ve played here in winter conditions and at least the approaches had “grass” available to hit off, albeit soggy. If you’re seeking that memorable feel of a weekend golf outing with your foursome, invest in a better quality track where the weekend rate feels justified.
Good condition despite the rain
Eastmoreland is not what I would call a good drainage course, but the rain over the weekend was some of the first of the fall, so the course was still in very good condition. We were the first foursome out so pace of play was no problem - we finished in four hours.
Great course
I’ll be back again. On a day that’s it’s not raining though.
Hard greens, bare fairways and bums in the bushes.
I know the conditions were unusual, but I won't waste my time there again.
Pleasant round
conditions were great for having just had over an inch of rain the day before. Well maintained with good pace of play, well kept facility.
