About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Gem of a Course Near Frederick
Course is in as good a shape as it has always been. Sand traps were hardpan, and rough is a little high, but everything else is great, including the employees. A real bargain in the area.

Love Glade
My favorite local course! The staff could not be friendlier and nicer. Course in great shape and well maintained. Greens staff busted their rear ends mowing and working around me as I went off at 6 AM. They were considerate of my play and courteous.

Good course, Terrible management staff
Booked as a single. Went to the starter @11:14 for my 11:20 tee time. The group I was playing with, that I do not know, had already hit tee shots. We drove down the fairway to link together. The starter tried to explain the situation but the 3 women pretended to not speak English well and this is normal for this course. Long story short I rushed the first 3 holes to join a group of 4 a head of me. As 5 we played faster than the group ahead. The course is in good shape. Management seems to be lacking. I only 2 employees the entire round. The emotionless woman who checked me in while on a 20 minute phone call and the 87 year old starter who was more competent than she did.

Good Ole Glade
Course is in great shape and they have even eliminated some trees to open it up more for the amateur golfer like myself. Staff was friendly as usual and the new owner is really improving on an already great atmosphere. I play this course as often as I can.

Much improved
Tee boxes, fairway and greens show they are invested into making improvements. Golf cart do not have rain cover, so come prepared in the event of rain. Pace of play could use some improvements but common issue in the larger DC area.

Thought course was in just OK condition. It was a beautiful day and I was just itching to get out and play. I knew I could probably get on to GV. Fee was $32 on Golf Now. T-boxes in so-so condition. Greens good. Still lots of bare spots around where grass should be. Grass just off the fairways is deep and hard to get out of. Other nearby courses better for $5-10 more, but GV still not too bad.

Glade Valley - a nice course
Glade Valley has new ownership and there appear to be numerous improvement projects underway. Trees are being cleaned up, the greens have been smoothed, and overall landscaping is better. This is a great walking course- close green to tee and flat.
