About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

First Time Playing This Year...
The course was in good condition. It was pretty dry and firm, but there was a lot of green and only a few brown/burnt out places in a couple of fairways. With the fairways being so firm, you got a lot of bounce and roll. The greens were in great shape and also were firm, so you were better off landing short and letting the ball roll to where you wanted it to stop. Bunkers were raked and looked decent, although I didn't land in any. This is a fairly easy scoring course, because most areas have been cleared of low-lying brush and dense vegetation, so you can recover from wayward shots. There are a couple of holes along property lines where you have to make sure you keep it in the fairway. I like Glade Valley and try to make the hour drive a couple times a year. The staff is very friendly and accommodating.

I work and rate courses all over the USA, well, this course needs some help' 3 stars out of 5, if you want an easy course to play" straight and simple, ans waste over 5hrs playing, you found it" this is your course. we had to call the pro shop to have the golf ranger come out" to move the over beveraged people ahead of us to speed up play" very sad :( There was a plus" the greens are very nice, as for the tee boxes yikes" they really could use some help" It's differently a $30-$40 course. As for the practice range, get it together" Mats, or not" people were all over the place, Yikes, Fix your course, it realy could be nice, I also recommend a dress code as there were plenty of tee-shirt golfers.. would I play this course again" NO'

Had a Great Day
Course was in good condition. Fairways were good. Tee boxes and greens were in good shape for the most part. Not much water but enough marsh and creek areas to make it challenging. Rolling countryside but not to much elevation changes. Didnt seem to be hitting up or down too much. Staff was very nice. Bathrooms very clean. Food was good. Reasonably priced. Will come back.

New management
Course was in best shape I have ever seen. Lot of maintenancedone on course. Only thing is greens are slowin afternoon. Weekday afternoon senior rate is a great deal at 26.00. Sunday am is 69.00.

Great round at Glade Valley
Under new ownership Glade Valley has improved immensely. Although the tee boxes need to be leveled, the fairways and greens are in great shape. The new and improved snack bar is staffed by friendly and courteous servers. Will definitely return and recommend this course to others.

Basic public golf course
Played here many times over the years. The course itself has improved over time, greens and fairways in fine shape. Tee boxes also filled in and in good shape.
Cart paths were so-so, as were the sand bunkers, but pretty much typical of a public track. Each hole had ball washers and trash receptacles. Th e range was open with mats and grass fed areas. No starter, refreshment/snack bar was not much to write about.
Played this course on a Tuesday.
