Glade Valley Golf Club

The course was in great shape. The greens were fast and firm. The price is great and pace of play was fantastic! Great hidden gem.

This was my first time playing on this course. Nice and serene, and very scenic. Played with two really nice guys I met at the course (Frank and Joe). Greens were very challenging. Fairways were pretty open and kept. For the first time in my golfing life, I Eagled the Hole 6 Par 5. What a great feeling that was. Will definitely be back. Thanks

This was the second time I've played Glade Valley. The course in in excellent shape and the value is quite good. My only complaint is that on both occasions, the pace of play was quite slow. This will discourage me from returning. The rangers need to pair two-somes together and encourage those lagging to pick up the pace. Other than that, Glade Valley is worth playing.

Pace of play was 4 hours. Friendly staff. Course was in decent shape. Pin placement on 3 was interesting.

Very nice conditions, layout and service. Played as a single and paired up with other Golfnowers for a great round. Course was crowded for a Wednesday mid day but pace of play was good since we were a foursome following other foursomes, only a few times we had to wait to play, Course is very lush, good lies everywhere. Greens rolled well at medium speed. Some easy holes and some more challenging. Great value through Golfnow. Recommend.

Made a last minute reservation less than 30 minutes before the noon tee time on Golf Now. Course in great shape and not busy. Played by myself except the last 5 holes; finished in under 3 hours even with rather lengthy searches for errant shots! Staff had my last minute reservation and sent me off in short order.

You will enjoy the challenge that the course presents and you will appreciate the overall staff friendliness.

Great course/staff/conditions. Only reason for not getting a 5 stars is pace of play, as most times I've played, it tends to be slow. That said, I fully recommend and will continue to go. Best course in the DC/NVA area for those learning the game and trying to improve.

It's that time of year to punch greens and the back 9 was close. it would have been nice to know before booking a tee time.

The course was stressed due to a long stretch of hot dry weather, but the greens were in excellent condition and some of the fairways were in good shape. The pace of play was great, we finished in about 4 hours and 20 mins. I would recommend this course to anyone who is an average or above average golfer. My son and cousin played with me and both said they liked the course.

Great value for the price. I got a "hot deal" and paid very little but I would gladly have paid full price for the experience. There has not been a lot of rain this summer so there are some places that are "burned" but they are NOT in your play area. The tee boxes were in good shape overall (a couple were a little tough because they were in the shade) the fairways and greens are in great shape considering the weather. Staff was EXTREMELY pleasant and helpful. With all that said it is my opinion that you are NOT going to beat the value for the money. I have read several reviews that complained about the pace of play, I did NOT have that experience. I started at 1pm and our group finished in 3:40 for all 18 holes. I have played golf for 35 years and have played some of the best courses this wonderful country of ours has to offer. This is NOT a lush country club but a solid public facility that deserves more respect than some of the reviews I have read. You are NOT going to get a Congressional Country Club facility for $30.. Enjoy it for what it is, an excellent. Amid for the money.

I play Glade Valley with regularity for a few reasons. I grew up on traditional style golf courses where if you miss a fairway, you can still play your ball instead of lose it. Glade allows this. The par 5s are scoring holes, the par 3s are adequate if you club yourself right but the par 4s are the heart and soul of this course. When you play from the tips, they range from 325 yards to 474 yards. 7 of the par 4s are well over 400 yards and the ones that are shorter, while being tempted to put driver away, are best played with your long stick. If you keep it in play, they are birdie holes.

It is difficult to keep greens rolling well in August but while slow, they were consistent. My tip is take whatever you read into the break, and cut it in half...you will make more putts this way, especially short putts.

By the way, the pro, Curley Bishop, is a real gem. Great personality and knows how to maximize on your strengths and minimize your weaknesses. If you need a lesson, this is the best you can find.

The title says it all it is always very slow but the prices is right and the course is entertaining.

Glade Valley is the best value in the area. The greens are very good, and the sand traps all had fresh sand.
The pace of play could be a bit faster, but the luck of the draw regarding the ability of the group in front of you dictates a lot of that.Congratulations to management
for providing such a nice course at an affordable price.

Also they do a great job supporting high school golf programs by providing course time for local area high school matches. Thats smart, these are your future members. Good job Glade valley !!!! I will be back often.

We arrived at the course to find out that we had the wrong day. The manager wasn't very pleasant to my wife and I. It was our mistake but you would have thought that they would try and do something to get us on. She acted as if it was a bother to her.

Nice established parkland course, but not lush or in fabulous condition as other recent reviews stated. The greens were rather slow. The bunkers were nice...full of soft fluffy sand. The fairways were decent, but not soft and lush.
Overall a decent value for low $20's.
The staff was very friendly and it was evident that they care about trying to keep the course nice.

My friends and I played Sunday afternoon for our second and last visit to Glade Valley. The course is absolutely beautiful and manicured well. The course is very enjoyable to play. Our disappointment came with the pace of play and the apparent over booking. It took us 10 minutes to tee off from each hole. At hole #13 we called the clubhouse to complain but no marshal ever showed. At hole #15 we were already 4 hours into our round and decided to quit. Love the course but will never play there again on the weekends!

Just played Aug 9 2015 I really enjoyed the course as it was forgiving off the tees but sneaky difficult around the greens. The greens were the best I've played for Mont County courses. I not sure what that means if anthing to most.. however at least it stands above its peers at this price range. My only issue and its minor is the tee boxes were littered with Tees. No fault of the course because they provide tee collection boxes. And the starter keep trying to get the groups at 7am-8am to go off well before their time.later i also saw a pile up at first tee...easy fix.

If I had to only play one course for the rest of my life GV would have to be a consideration
I have never experienced a better or more prepared staff before.
The layout is fair. The challenges are always balanced with a meaningful reward but there are also fair and simple alternatives for those who don't want or are not positioned to take advantage of the risk.
