Agawam Municipal Golf Course

About
Agawam Municipal Golf Course has been a favorite among local golfers since first opening in 1944. It has a traditional layout that offers a few challenges but it's still player friendly enough for golfers of any skill levels. The holes are fairly straightforward but the gently rolling hills provide some subtly tricky elevation changes. There isn't any water on the golf course but there are mature trees lining the fairways. While it may not be what you're looking for if you're an avid golfer who wants a truly formidable test, Agawam Municipal Golf Course is not to be under-estimated. The greens can be tricky to pitch to and accuracy will take you far. This municipal course is a great spot for a quick and casual round that's also affordable.

Nine, par-3, 140. Playing steeply uphill, this is possibly the best-known, most interesting, and least liked hole at Agawam. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 09/05/2022

Great time
I had a really good time playing here. The greens and fairways in good condition.
I will play here again in the future
Fun course
Played here for my second time on Sunday and had a great time. It was my first time playing here as a single golfer so I was a little nervous but I got paired with 3 older gentleman and had a great time. Will definitely be golfing here more often.
Balls coming from everywhere
The majority of the fairways on the front nine are running parallel with each other, so there was just balls coming from every direction when you're halfway through the round.
I would not try and play there on a Sunday at 10:30 again. It was pretty packed and the pace of play was horrible due to a bunch of groups taking way too long to play and there was no ranger out there to move things along.
I felt like there was only two holes the entire day where I wasn't worried about getting hit by a ball from some other fairway.
I would probably go back and play there again. But I would definitely go early in the morning or later in the evening.
Great course
Great course and staff was very friendly. Will definitely be returning with my son often.
Great conditions
Loved the conditions of the course. Never better. There is no better value out there.
Value
Still the best value for your buck in Western Massachusetts. Greens are tricky but in excellent condition. Course continues to improve each visit and Tom.and his staff are the best
Not as Easy as the Ratings look
Tee to green, the course is pretty straightforward but once on the greens, its very difficult. I couldnt read them for the life of me lol. Not sure I would play there again anytime soon just bc I got my butt kicked
Improved Course Conditions
Still the best value for your dollar in Western Massachusetts, the course continues to improve thanks to the work of the new superintendent and his staff.
Tom exemplifies customer service at its best. Always a joy to.play Agawam.
Nice course
I went for a late tee time, only a few were playing so it was great. The course was in good shape, I was shocked at how many people are not fixing their ball marks on the greens though...I must've fixed 5 or 6 per green that weren't mine. Do better people!
